Kim Zolciak is defending her 20-year-old daughter, Ariana Biermann, following her arrest on Saturday.
In a statement shared with her fans and followers on her Instagram Story, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, who also appeared alongside her family in Don’t Be Tardy, reacted to the DUI claims against Ariana, insisting she is “not guilty” and explaining Ariana’s admitted use of a THC vape pen.
“Ariana was involved in a minor fender bender. When police arrived on scene, the investigating officer immediately initiated an investigation for DUI of alcohol. Despite Ariana’s constant invocation that she was upset and anxious from the minor accident, the officer incorrectly concluded she was impaired. That was not the case. While we have no further desire to litigate this case in the mid, Ariana was not impaired by any substance, including alcohol or marijuana,” Kim wrote of Ariana, who refused a breathalyzer during the arrest, in her first post.
Then, in her second, Kim continued, “Since she was being cooperative and honest, she admitted to consuming marijuana the day before, meaning over 24 hours prior to her contact with law enforcement. In addition, the arresting officer, as evidenced by his own police report, charged Ariana with impairment by alcohol. She wholly denies these allegations and intends to fight these charges because she is not guilty of them. We appreciate the general public allowing this case to be tried on its own merits, and not rhetoric or incorrect conclusions.“
Also on Instagram, Brielle Biermann reacted with the same statement.
According to reports, Ariana was with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Hudson McLeroy, at the time she was taken into custody and later released.
Following her arrest, Ariana shared a statement with TMZ through her lawyer, Justin Spizman.
It read, “Ariana was involved in a minor fender bender. When police arrived on scene, the investigating officer immediately initiated an investigation for DUI. Despite Ariana’s constant invocation that she was upset and anxious from the minor accident, the officer incorrectly concluded she was impaired by alcohol. That was not the case. She wholly denies these allegations and intends to fight these charges because she is not guilty of them.”
Don’t Be Tardy aired on Bravo for eight seasons before being canceled in May 2021.
