Garcelle Beauvais threw some shade at Erika Jayne following their recent confrontation on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
After the ladies were seen going back and forth about Erika’s potential drinking problem, with Garcelle proclaiming that she doesn’t have to make Erika look bad because “[she] can do that on [her] own,” Garcelle described her castmate’s recent behavior as a “freak show” as Erika clapped back at her judgmental antics.
“My birthday party was a bit out of control. She hit on my older son, and then she cussed at my younger son. It was like a freak show, honestly. Mexico, falling out of the sleigh, I think all those things. When does that cross a line? When do we go, ‘We should probably look out for her … This has happened once too many?’” Garcelle asked on the August 17 episode of the RHOBH: After Show.
But while Garcelle expressed concern, Erika wasn’t so sure her thoughts were genuine.
“Erika did not believe that I was being sincere with my concern about her drinking and seeming a little bit out of control. She thought I was just using it to sort of like get to her and sort of make her feel bad,” Garcelle noted.
According to Kyle Richards, Erika’s drinking was a difficult topic due to the fact that Garcelle had a point in what she was saying about her seemingly unhinged behavior. That said, she believes that Erika felt that if Garcelle had truly been concerned, she would’ve said “it to her face instead of talking behind her back. But then Garcelle came in with that good comeback, and I was shook.”
During the scene in question, Garcelle dropped her line about Erika’s ability to make herself look bad, which even Erika admitted was “a cute little quick read” before suggesting it was Garcelle’s way of putting the pressure back on her.
“I feel like she’s judgmental, and I don’t understand why because she’s gone through some things in her life that perhaps she should actually understand, I think, where I’m coming,” Erika noted, seemingly in a nod to Garcelle’s son Oliver Saunders‘ past struggles with substance abuse. “She’s continuously trying to undermine my integrity.”
“She’s always been on the opposite side… [and] she could never see quite where I was coming from… I’ve always felt that sort of energy from her,” Erika added.
Also on the RHOBH: After Show, after Sutton Stracke admitted she was being a bit patronizing amid the face-off but insisted Garcelle was “truly concerned about Erika, Crystal Kung-Minkoff admitted she was suspicious of Garcelle’s intentions.
“I think that there is a concern, but I think that it was retaliation for how she treated Jax,” she shared.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
