Lala Kent revealed in an Instagram Story days ago that the one-year-old daughter she shares with former fiancé Randall Emmett would not be seen on the upcoming 10th season of Vanderpump Rules, explaining that she is determined to “protect Ocean by all means necessary.”
After Lala’s post was shared, a number of viewers of the popular Bravo reality series wanted to know if Randall pulled the plug on Ocean’s role. So what’s the truth?
On September 21, a rep for Randall confirmed to Reality Blurb that the director and producer did, in fact, take action to prevent Ocean from being featured on Pump Rules.
“Randall felt being a storyline on a reality show was not in the best interest of his child and continues to put her wellbeing and privacy first and foremost,” the rep said in a statement.
As Pump Rules fans may have seen, Lala took to her Story on September 15 to break the news of her child’s absence, and she did so with a sweet photo of her little girl.
“Y’all won’t be seeing Ocean this season and you won’t be seeing me as a mom. I’m okay with that. This part of my life I want to hold close to my heart, free of outsiders, and protect Ocean by all means necessary,” Lala wrote, in part.
Since their split in October 2021, which came amid rumors of infidelity, Lala and Randall have been raising Ocean completely separately, choosing to interact with one another only via a parenting app.
Months ago, Randall opened up about their co-parenting relationship.
“We talk about Ocean and that’s it and honestly, as long as we’re talking about our daughter, that’s the most important thing,” Randall said on a March episode of Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi‘s podcast, Genuinely GG. “I’m hopeful in the future that we get to a place of being a little more fluid but we’re co-parenting and that’s it. If she’s not ready to do more than what we’re doing, that’s okay.”
Vanderpump Rules season 10 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
