Candiace Dillard-Bassett isn’t happy about her Real Housewives of Potomac castmates, Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant, insinuating her husband has been flirting with them, via DMs, behind her back.
Following the airing of the latest episode, which saw both women accusing Chris Bassett of inappropriate behavior and Candiace doing her best to shut down the speculation, Candiace took to her Twitter page, where she suggested her co-stars’ antics were doing an injustice to real victims.
“I haven’t said anything yet…mostly because I’ve been in the land of Bravo having the time of my life. But [RHOP episode 2] has come and gone. The first [and] most relevant thing I can say is that it’s hard to say anything at all because I #supportwomen I #believewomen and I support #metoo,” Candiace tweeted on October 17.
“I can’t tell a woman how to feel about a man’s presence in her orbit. We are entitled to our feelings and they should never be diminished or questioned,” she continued.
Candiace then shared two additional posts in which she targeted Gizelle’s behavior against Chris as “appalling” and mentioned how damaging her claims against him could be for other women who are dealing with far more serious issues.
“It’s why the most appalling part about this episode and those that will play after is watching a feral gutter snipe attempt to upend and dismantle these pillars that women have worked so hard to establish…all in the name of…what? All in the name of…entertainment?” she asked.
“Where have we landed? How exactly are we here? You are not a victim,” Candiace added. “What you are is a calculated slab of misery creating the next generation of snipes through the fine example your children have to mirror. We are all in danger.”
Also on social media, Ashley reshared a tweet from an RHOP viewer on her Instagram Story.
“Ashley and Gizelle wrong for what they’re trying to insinuate about Chris. All Chris do is cook, support Candiace, defend Candiace, and argue with Candiace. He does not want either of y’all and is not a creep,” the fan declared.
And in a caption, Candiace said, “This is hilarious.”
Last month, on the heels of the trailer, Chris commented on the DMs scandal on Twitter.
“Whelp… I guess after [six] seasons… It’s finally my turn,” he wrote.
The Real Housewives of Potomac season seven airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
