Andy Cohen Explains Why He "Applauded" Rinna for Poking Fun at Kathy's "Biggest Bully" Claim, See What Fans Are Saying About His Deleted Comment

Andy Cohen is speaking out about his decision to “applaud” Lisa Rinna for joking about Kathy Hilton‘s suggestion that she’s the “biggest bully in Hollywood.”

After coming across a thread on Twitter in which fans discussed his decision to delete the comment he left on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member’s post, which featured her as a red M&M and poked fun at Kathy’s reunion shade, the Watch What Happens Live host reacted to someone who shared why they believed he did so.

Following the posting of a Reality Blurb article titled, “Andy Cohen Deletes Comment from Lisa Rinna’s Controversial Post after RHOBH Reunion Drama with Kathy Hilton,” a Twitter user asked, “Andy, why did you post it in the first place?”

And in response, a second person shared their thoughts on Andy’s reasoning for engaging.

“I think he doesn’t take everything so deep as we do. He’s amused by the drama and doesn’t take sides, just observes and allows himself to be entertained by it all,” the person wrote. “Rinna joking herself about being a bully amused him and he applauded the balls of it.”

“I don’t think it’s that deep,” they added.

And Andy agreed that the fan’s sentiments offered a perfect explanation of his applause for the often-controversial RHOBH cast member.

“You nailed it man,” he replied.

Unfortunately, Andy’s explanation didn’t sit well with everyone.

“Something doesn’t mesh here. You say you’re appalled at the online/social media stuff that goes on around the show and yet you encourage Lisa Rinna in her [behavior] on social media. Which is it? You condemn it or you think it’s funny and ballsy?” one person wanted to know.

“Well the threats to [Garcelle Beauvais‘] son are being taken very seriously. If you don’t believe me look at Twitter today. The viewing public just didn’t see the light banter,” another noted.

And a third commenter agreed, writing, “I’m disappointed in this response.. what message [is] being put out to the younger generation that watch this show? Laugh off bullying and like for clout?”

Meanwhile, another Twitter user came to Andy’s defense, saying, “I always assumed that’s why you created the show, to be entertained by housewife drama. Nothing deeper than that.”

Over the summer on WWHL, after being confronted by Andy about her social media antics, Lisa admitted to being “a mess.”

“I have been a flipping nightmare. I know it. I acknowledge it,” she confessed. “I have tried to fix it as much as I can. I’m fully self-aware that I’m a mess right now. I’m just a mess. So let’s hope it gets better.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 reunion continues with part three on Wednesday, October 26, at 8/7c on Bravo.
