Dolores Catania isn’t looking forward to filming the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion.
During a recent podcast appearance, Dolores opened up about the messy family feud between co-stars Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga, which is sure to be a hot topic at the taping, their finale falling out, and the cast’s trip to Ireland with her boyfriend, Paul Connell.
“On a good day, we have anxiety about the reunion,” Dolores admitted on Hollywood Life’s Pay Attention Puh-Lease! podcast, via Page Six. “Anxiety is one thing, [but] I’m actually afraid.”
Amid filming on the currently airing 13th season of RHONJ, Teresa was accused of pushing a false rumor about Melissa allegedly cheating on husband Joe Gorga. And ultimately, the Gorgas chose to skip Teresa and Luis Ruelas‘ August 2022 wedding.
“I think that this [new feud] was a culmination of years of buildup and it all came to a head, unfortunately, right before [Teresa’s] wedding,” Dolores said. “And we just wish that that didn’t happen.”
While Dolores fears things could get physical at the taping of the RHONJ reunion, she said the cast has to learn how to “cohabitate with each other” — at least to an extent.
“Me and [Jennifer Aydin] had to make up. You have to move on from things to an extent, and kind of live together — we travel the world together. We spend every day together. We do vacations together — short trips [like at the] Jersey Shore. We’re staying in the same houses. We’re at the same parties. Something has to give here,” she stated. “Something.”
Also on Hollywood Life‘s podcast, Dolores looked back on Teresa and Melissa’s finale fight, which occurred during a party thrown by her and Paul.
“At one point, I’m standing, and I look, and I go, ‘Who do I go to?’” she recalled.
Luckily, amid their very tense season, Dolores and her co-stars ventured to Ireland for a much-needed getaway.
“You see a lot of emotions. There’s one scene that’s very emotional there, and you’ll see a side of Teresa you’ve never seen,” Dolores shared. “But we also had fun. It was different just to be in foreign grounds. And you’ll see Paul’s mom! Who is very funny.”
As Dolores revealed, the trip turned into a bachelorette party for Teresa.
“We are killing each other up until this trip. The fights are so bad,” Dolores continued. “I went to Ireland and everything was beautiful and clean and fresh and green. I think we needed a breath of fresh air. I was really trying to get everybody to calm down. We’re getting closer to Teresa’s wedding. Things are still heated. Fights are still going on. New dynamics in the group. So I suggested an international trip which we haven’t had since before COVID.”
During the trip, Paul enjoyed seeing how those from his homeland responded to the RHONJ cast’s visit.
“It was cool to hear from people from Ireland who said they got the opportunity to see them, they met with them, they walked behind them,” he said. “They were like, ‘Hey, this is great, they’re in our city.’ It’s just great for the exposure, as well. It was really cool.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
