Dolores Catania on Teresa Giudice's "Heartbreaking" Family Drama, "Insane" RHONJ Finale, and Being "Completely Different" With Boyfriend Paul

Dolores Catania is weighing in on the ongoing family feud between Teresa Giudice and the Gorgas.

As fans await the upcoming 13th season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, which is sure to provide some answers in regard to what exactly took place between Teresa, her brother, Joe Gorga, and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, Dolores is sharing her thoughts on their future while also discussing her relationship with boyfriend Paul Connell.

“It’s hard and there’s a lot of endings and a lot of beginnings and there’s some new people to meet. There’s some different dynamics so we’ll see,” Dolores said of the new season during an interview with Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap at BravoCon last month.

One particularly hard storyline is the family drama between Teresa and the Gorgas.

“It’s heartbreaking to me because we’ve all grown up together,” Dolores admitted. “I’ve known them since they were little and I look at them as when they were just a brother and sister who loved each other more than anything. And I will always look at them like that.”

Although both Teresa and Joe have suggested there’s no hope for a future reconciliation, Dolores disagreed, saying, “There’s always hope that things can move forward.”

“They’ve come back from a lot of things so this may not be the end,” she continued. “We’re all still here. It’s not a finale, right?”

And speaking of the finale, Teresa and Joe’s relationship was said to have imploded at the taping of the finale episode of RHONJ months ago.

“Talk about finales, don’t even ask. You won’t even know what to do with yourself. I’m sorry. It’s like, insane,” Dolores teased of the drama, which resulted in the Gorgas opting out of Teresa’s August 6 wedding in New Jersey.

As for her romance with Paul, Dolores said that while she tries to uphold her reputation as a “tough” girl and refrains from getting “giddy,” she loves their relationship.

“I’m excited about it and a lot of people are like, ‘Oh wow. You’re with him so much and you guys do everything together.’ No one knows me to do that. I wasn’t called Solo Dolo for nothing. So this is a different part of my life and I said it would be for me and it seems to be for me. It’s the complete opposite,” she explained.

And while there have been rumors of an engagement for months, Dolores said, “We’ll see,” when asked if wedding bells were in their future.

“Tomorrow is not promised to anyone so I’m not that like, what do they call me? A simp? I’m not that simped-out… We’ll see. I’m very happy. He’s a great guy. Everyone is going to love him. He gets along with everyone,” she noted.

And “everyone” does include Dolores’ ex-husband, Frank Catania, who previously said he felt that Paul had an “issue” with him.

“They get along and he’s just a great guy and he’s fun,” Dolores added.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo in early 2023.
