REPORT: Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's Separation to Be Storyline on RHOBH, Plus Kathy Hilton Shares Cryptic Post Amid Split Claims

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky‘s alleged separation will reportedly “be covered” on the upcoming 13th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Shortly after Kyle, 54, and Mauricio, 53, confirmed the rocky state of their marriage but denied rumors of an impending divorce, a report claimed the topic was discussed by cast members of the Bravo reality series as Kyle’s sister Kathy Hilton, who she reconciled with last month after a near-year estrangement, shared a cryptic post about silence on her Instagram Story.

“My mom once told me, ‘Once you are matured you will [realize] that silence is more powerful than proving your point.’ And I felt that,” it read, via Bravo Snark Side on Instagram.

“Wonder what this could be referring to?” the fan page asked with their July 5 post.

Kyle and Mauricio wed in January 1996 and share three children, Alexia Umansky, 27, Sophia Umansky, 23, and Portia Umansky, 15. But on Monday, an insider revealed they’ve separated after 27 years of marriage.

“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof,” the source told PEOPLE. “They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”

And one day later, in a joint statement, the couple confirmed their marital issues after weeks of rumors linking Kyle to country singer Morgan Wade, 28, who she’s spent tons of time with in recent months.

“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year,” they wrote. “The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”

“Thank you for the love and support. Kyle & Mauricio,” they concluded.

As for what fans will see of the split on RHOBH, a source said the moments leading up to the couple’s announcement will be featured.

“Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage problems are discussed on the show this upcoming season,” an insider confirmed to The U.S. Sun on July 4. “It was impossible to ignore everything that was happening with Kyle, privately and publicly. The cast talks about all the fan speculation of a split that began months ago on social media.”

As fans may recall, Mauricio confirmed the speculation into his and Kyle’s marriage would be covered on the show while appearing on Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge‘s podcast.

“We addressed it. It was addressed by the girls. They brought it up to Kyle, which is kinda b-tchy and super mean because particularly the girls, they know what’s going on, and they know exactly what it’s all about,” he explained on Two T’s in a Pod. “They know that story is BS and for them to bring it on and make it more real, bring it to the show … make it more relevant, particularly when they know it’s not relevant, just kinda sucks.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime this fall.
