Taylor Frankie Paul recently attended a week-long stint in rehab, and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, isn’t happy with what happened next.
Just as the 32-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s ex-husband, Tate Paul, 34, filed for a restraining order against her and requested sole custody of their two kids, daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6, Dakota, 33, accused Taylor of violating a restraining order he has in place by attempting to secure an additional custody visit after her time in treatment resulted in a missed meeting with their son Ever, 2.
“[Taylor] checked into a facility upon the recommendation of her doctor,” a source told PEOPLE on June 30, confirming that the stay was “voluntary.”
“She’s committed to getting better,” the source said.
A second source added, “The people around Taylor want her to get help [and] want to see her get better … Everyone is just trying to protect the kids.”
As SLOMW fans may recall, Taylor found herself in a whirlwind of trouble earlier this year after two alleged domestic incidents with Dakota in February. Shortly thereafter, footage from a 2023 incident surfaced in which she was seen screaming and throwing chairs with Indy nearby.
In the months that followed, Taylor and Dakota were granted mutual restraining orders against one another as Dakota was given temporary custody of Ever and Taylor was limited to visitation — first in a supervised manner before that restriction was lifted.
Meanwhile, on June 30, insiders close to Dakota told TMZ that Taylor supposedly violated the restraining order he has against her on numerous occasions, including an incident in which she attempted to arrange a visit with Ever through third parties after missing time with him while in rehab.
He also said she violated the order last weekend when she revealed in an Instagram Story that someone “obsessive” had called the cops on her.
According to sources close to Taylor, Dakota’s recent antics are part of a campaign to intimidate and harass her, which could be a violation in and of itself. The insiders also feel that, due to the timing of his claims against her, Dakota may be attempting to derail the possible airing of her season of The Bachelorette.
The matter is now being handled by the district attorney’s office.
