Shamea Morton admitted to being confused by her “Happy Pride” drama with Porsha Williams during an interview last week.
As she also explained how her falling out with Porsha, 45, impacted her relationships with the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast, called out her former “fan,” Angela Oakley, 45, for being two-faced, and addressed the swirling marriage rumors, Shamea, 44, shared new details about Drew Sidora‘s behavior at Pinky Cole‘s audition, and accused certain woman of having double standards.
“Well, you know, she already said [‘Happy Pride’]. I mean, seasons ago [she said] that I was sleeping with [Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker],” Shamea noted on the June 23 episode of Way Up With Yee. “[And] I didn’t think it was a diss, me saying, ‘Happy Pride.’ I had to say one thing about every housewife, and I said. ‘Happy Pride.’”
“Aren’t you in a relationship with Sway? I’m just so confused, like, why was that a diss? It was a safe thing to say. We ain’t friends right now,” she added.
According to Shamea, she didn’t realize that her feud with Porsha would “spiral out to the group.”
“Like, now you can’t be friends with me?” she wondered.
Shamea then signaled the way she defended Porsha against Drew, 41, after Drew began working with her ex, Dennis McKinley, 44, behind her back.
“I didn’t think it was cool, and I still don’t think it’s cool for you to work with somebody’s man and not tell ‘em. Now Drew and Porsha are best friends. They were able to forgive and move on, even after being a low-down dirty bee and being fired from the hair line, they were able to move past it,” she reasoned.

Shamea also suggested that her drama with Porsha was the reason behind her ongoing beef with Cynthia Bailey, 59.
“Me and Cynthia were cool. I thought we were anyway,” she stated as she reflected on the dirty room Cynthia arranged for her to stay in during their cast trip to Dallas.
“If you listen closely, I’m like, ‘Cynthia, I know you didn’t do this intentionally, but the room is still dirty.’ Or I called her several times. She went on her podcast and kept talking about it with her co-host. So we’re going to keep talking about it, then we gonna keep talking about it. It was a dirty room. The receipts were there. Y’all saw it. I mean, it wasn’t nice, and nobody would’ve stayed in that. So let’s not maintain minimizing it to make it seem like I’m trying to ruin your trip. That’s not what I’m doing. And I did try to seek out other accommodations, but we were in the middle of nowhere, and it was a safety issue.”
Circling back to her dispute with Porsha, Shamea reacted to Octavia Spencer, 46, suggesting that she needed to reassess the relationship they had on Watch What Happens Live.
“Oh, Miss Octavia came with a word, didn’t she? She’s clairvoyant, and maybe, absolutely, it wasn’t what I thought,” she agreed of their past friendship.
Shamea also addressed how their mothers have been dragged into their feud.
“We had agreed that we wouldn’t bring our moms into it cuz, you know, they already had their stuff, right? So we were like, ‘I love you. You love me. We’re friends. We’re riding for each other, right? So we gonna let that be what that’s gonna be.’ This is prior to me, you know, being a full-time housewife. And then now that it spiraled down to now our kids can’t even play together,” she revealed. “It’s unfortunate.”
Moving on to Angela, Shamea recalled her co-star taking a liking to her initially.
“After the first episode aired last year, Angela reached out and was like, ‘Okay girl, I see you.’ Like, ‘Rah, rah, hooray-ing me,’ even pulled up on me and [Kelli Porter] with our daughters, and we had a swim day. It was fun, all off-camera. Angela became a fan overnight. It felt like she thought, ‘Oh, you’re going to be the fan favorite, so let me align myself and attach myself to you,’” Shamea recalled.
According to Shamea, Angela then turned on her when she realized that Shamea had fallen out with several members of their group.
“She saw how, ‘Oh, wait, they don’t really mess with her like that. Let me pull away from her,’” she alleged.
Shamea then said that Angela was much different off-screen.
“My husband and I went to the Bahamas. We saw her and [Charles Oakley] there. We had the best time. We [were] swimming together, we [were] at the club together. We had the best time together, off camera. But then those cameras come on, and Angela turns into a whole other person, and that’s unfortunate,” she noted.
Looking back at the swirling rumors about Angela’s marriage, Shamea denied attacking her relationship first.
“The things that I said about Angela, her marriage, were already said. [Charles] said at Porsha’s dinner when they asked him the best advice about marriage or something like that, he said something like, ‘I leave in the morning, and I stay gone all day.’ I’m paraphrasing. Maybe not that verbatim, but that was what was said,” she explained. “I just used it back on her. ‘Girl, your husband said this.’ And then she said, ‘My husband said when he’s outside, he sees you outside.’ That’s what she said. Then I came back, and I said, ‘Well, if he’s outside and he sees me outside, then what does that make him? He’s outside too, and you ain’t with him.’”
As for her drama with Drew, Shamea said she didn’t shade her National Anthem performance until after Drew called her a “lap dog” and after she came to the audition they did for Pinky, 38.
“That’s another thing: Drew didn’t come to that audition like, ‘Oh, let me come help you. I want to show some love.’ No. Y’all didn’t see where Drew came in and said, ‘Oh, you’re auditioning?’ And, ‘Oh, I didn’t get the [lines].’ I’m like, ‘Girl, I just really got them as well. Let’s look at them together.’ And she’s like, ‘I don’t do cattle calls.’ She came in very nasty, but it’s a short show. They gotta edit out stuff,” Shamea revealed.
“Even down to talking to her in that moment when we were sitting there, she was like, ‘Well, I know why you gotta do it. You’re just starting out. So I can see why you’re doing these types of roles.’ I’m like, ‘Girl, why are you trying to shade me?’” she continued. “But I’m trying to stay focused and stay in my zone and really nail this audition.”
Also during the interview, Shamea called out the cast’s double standards as she blasted Drew for the shady video she posted of Kelli’s closed business, which understandably sparked a feud between them.
“That’s an attack to me. That’s like, why go that low?” Shamea wondered. “You weren’t trying to support. You were being shady … Everybody throws shots, but you can’t get mad when one side throws shots, and the other side does it back.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 17 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
