Brittany Cartwright leaked the text message her former publicist, Lori Krebs, sent to her after she was caught with her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, in Mexico during an interview on Wednesday.
As she also recalled confiding in Lori about Jax’s missed time with their son, five-year-old Cruz, which was happening when they were secretly together, and accused Lori of infiltrating her life and quietly sabotaging her through the press, the 37-year-old cast member of The Valley revealed what Lori sent her before TMZ shared photos of her getting cozy with Jax, 47.
“I got a text message from her two hours before the photos from TMZ dropped,” Brittany told PEOPLE on August 6. “There’s been a lot of false information saying that she called me, gave me a heads up. And that was so nice of her and all that. Nope.”
After noting that she was “shaking” due to the “hurtful” nature of the message, which Lori sent on Monday, July 13 at 9:30 a.m., Brittany read Lori’s text aloud.
“Hi, I wanted you to hear this directly from me before you heard it anywhere else. Today I was contacted by TMZ because they have photos of Jax and I together and plan to publish them. I know this is going to be incredibly shocking and painful and I understand that you will feel betrayed by this, especially because I was there during one of the hardest times of your life,” Lori had written.
According to the message, Lori said she cared “very much about [Brittany] and Cruz.”
“None of that care was ever insincere. I will never excuse the way Jax treated you and his behavior and the choices he made then, and nothing about the relationship we have today changes that,” her message continued.
She then said that she “never expected” her relationship with Jax to change in the way it did.
“Over the past several months, we became much closer. I know one of your first questions will be about the timeline,” Lori wrote. “When you asked me about the [cheating rumors from 2024], I told you they weren’t true and I will always stand by that. I understand you may not believe what I’m saying to you, but I’m telling you truthfully that this only developed in the past few months. I wanted to tell you sooner, but I struggle a lot with how to handle this.”
Lori went on to claim that she never told Jax any personal information about Brittany.
“It’s important that you know that professionally, I have never discussed your work, your business, your personal life, or our private conversations with him, and I never will,” she vowed. “I know this will forever change how you see me, and I understand and accept that. I just feel you deserve to hear this directly from me.”

At another moment of her interview with PEOPLE, Brittany looked back on the way in which she confided in Lori about her hardships with Jax.
“My ex-husband going back and forth to Canada, back and forth to Florida, missing time with his son, you know, not helping me with anything. And I confided in her. I said, ‘I think Jax has a girlfriend in Florida. I don’t care.’ I was like, ‘But what I do care about is that he’s missing time with his son and he’s not helping with anything.’ I confided in her,” Brittany revealed.
Although she clarified that the announcement about Jax and Lori was a “very big shock,” Brittany admitted to having concerns about Lori before seeing her with Jax.
“I started feeling like I couldn’t trust her because all of a sudden she went from drama, drama, drama, making me so anxious because she was constantly telling me what his DMs said, who he was talking to, what he was doing while he was in rehab. I mean, she was telling me every dirty detail. But in reality, it was her that he was seeing and missing time with his son. I mean, it’s awful. It’s awful,” she fumed. “She was asking me about every guy I was dating. Up until the week I found out, she was wanting to be signed back into my Instagram. And something in my gut told me, ‘No.’ Like, I never let her log back in, and it was because she flipped her script.”
As Lori was questioning Brittany about her dating life, travels, and cast drama, Jax was harassing Brittany on a parenting app, seemingly using information Lori had given him.
“My ex was texting me on a parenting app, constantly threatening me, and harassing me through this app, saying that he knows everything. He knows everything. He knew things about me that I did not tell him. And it was just so wild because now I know that it was her,” Brittany explained. “She was literally infiltrating my life, my marriage, my divorce, my custody, everything, my career.”
Brittany then accused Lori of sabotage.
“There has been so much bad press and stuff about me that I was like, I would ask her, ‘Can you please do something about this?’ And I felt like nothing was ever done. And now I feel like she was like sabotaging me, like quietly behind the scenes,” she revealed.
“I’ve never seen a snake like this before in my entire life,” she added.
