Kim Zolciak’s eldest son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., whom she shares with her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, has reportedly been released from jail.
Over a month after the 15-year-old was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sodomy and taken into custody at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Georgia, KJ has begun serving house arrest at the 48-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s home.
TMZ reported the news on September 22, stating that the child was released sometime over the past several days.
As fans will recall, KJ was granted a $200,000 bond in court earlier this month. And during the hearing, a judge put strict rules in place.
In addition to being forced to wear an ankle monitor and be under 24-hour house arrest, KJ can’t be around any children under 16, including his siblings, 14-year-old brother Kash and 12-year-old twins Kane and Kaia, must complete school online, and can’t use his phone or social media or have any “direct or indirect contact” with his alleged victim, her family, or her friends.
Back in August, it was alleged that KJ had sexually assaulted an unidentified minor victim in April at a gym in Alpharetta, Georgia. But quickly, Kim shot down the idea that her son was guilty.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” she told Us Weekly in a statement. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.”
KJ’s attorney also spoke to the outlet, saying, “First and foremost, this is not the kind of information that should be for public dissemination. These are juveniles. Secondly, my client is 100 percent innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender polygrapher.”
“Additionally, the officer’s report notes the GBI [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] found no male DNA on or inside the areas the alleged victim claimed she was assaulted. Had the officer sat down with me, I feel certain she would’ve never made an arrest,” the attorney added.
Weeks later, it was alleged that KJ had already been put on probation stemming from a case in which he was accused of having sex with a relative under the age of 12.
