Emily Simpson looked back on her decision to make an early exit from Vicki Gunvalson‘s house on Thursday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also commented on Vicki’s claim that she owed her $250, explained why she called her “Victoria,” and reacted to Vicki’s ongoing feud with Carmella Garcia, 44, the 50-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star addressed husband Shane Simpson‘s claims about their marriage, admitted to being irritated by Heather Dubrow, 57, and shared what type of man Shannon Beador, 62, needs.
“No,” Emily replied when asked whether she considered staying longer at Vicki’s on the September 24 episode of WWHL. “I had just turned 50 recently, and I was like, ‘I’m too old to deal with this. I’m not doing it.”
After she and Jennifer Pedranti, 49, traveled home to Orange County from La Quinta, Vicki suggested they owed her $250 for the money she spent hosting them. However, according to Emily, it is Shannon who is owed.
“I’m happy to Venmo her. But actually, Victoria owes Shannon money because Shannon’s the one that put all those gift bags together for us when we arrived and she never paid her back for that,” she revealed.
Regarding why she calls her “Victoria,” Emily explained that she’d always felt like Vicki “holds herself out to be regal.”
Moving on to Vicki’s drama with Carmella, which recently saw Vicki targeting Carmella’s parenting, Emily admitted to being confused by Vicki’s issues with the new cast member.
“I don’t understand Victoria’s animosity with her. It makes no sense,” she stated.
During a Q&A in which she was asked what Vicki should apologize for, Emily said she should say, “I’m sorry” to Jennifer for calling her “low-hanging fruit” and for suggesting that Carmella didn’t live in her home.
Looking back on the comments Shane made about wanting his sacrifices to be acknowledged in their marriage, Emily admitted it wasn’t “easy to hear.”
“It’s hurtful, and a lot of times I don’t feel like it’s accurate,” she said. “But I understand where he’s coming from. It was a really hard struggle this season, just the dynamics between us and everything going on with Luke and children and everything, and so I think we were just doing the best we could.”
“We’ve been married for almost 18 years, and we have a lot going on,” she continued, “and I really try not to get upset about things he says because I don’t want to bring it into our relationship again cuz it was obviously said earlier … but I think we’re both very good at that. That’s why he hasn’t been watching the show this season, and he normally does, but he told me he didn’t want to hear me talk about our relationship because he didn’t want to get upset. He just wants to live in the here and now.”
Also on the live airing, Emily admitted she was irritated by Heather choosing to work with Carmella over Gina Kirschenheiter, 42, as she hunted for a home for Max in San Diego, and by Heather calling Carmella “trashy” and then acting nice to her face.
“Yes .. I feel like there’s more to the story,” she suspected.
Later, while appearing on the WWHL: After Show, Emily revealed what kind of man Shannon needs.
“I think she needs a nice, older gentleman who doesn’t take himself too seriously, who’s been divorced, that just loves her for who she is, but it’s hard in Orange County; I feel like everyone in her age range dates 30- and 40-year-olds,” Emily said. “I want her to find someone she can grow old with, like they have a real relationship. I mean, someone younger would be fun temporarily, but I also would love something long-term for her.”
