Teresa Giudice wants fans to pray for her family.
During an event at the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, October 20, the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member acknowledged the dark times she and her family are going through due to the recent deportation of her husband, Joe Giudice.
“Teresa said to please pray for me and my family,” an eyewitness at the event revealed to Us Weekly. “She really hopes Joe is out of jail to see [their daughter] Gia graduate. She said she cannot wait to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
Less than two weeks ago, a judge declared that Joe must return to his native Italy after his 41-month prison term is complete in March of next year. As fans may recall, Joe and Teresa were both convicted of mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud in 2014 and in 2015, Teresa served an 11-month prison term in Connecticut.
While Joe is reportedly planning to appeal the judge’s ruling, it is not yet known if he will be able to have the ruling overturned and remain in the country with his wife and their daughters, Gia, 17, Gabriella, 14, Milania, 12, and Audriana, 9.
Despite the dire circumstances her family is facing, the eyewitness said Teresa “was in really good spirits and made the crowd laugh several times” at the East Coast Vs. West Coast Real Housewives Brunch, which also included Tamra Judge, Kelly Dodd, and Dorinda Medley.
After addressing Joe’s deportation, Teresa went on to reveal how she was initially chosen for The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“She explained that Dina [Manzo] and Jacqueline [Laurita] were asked to recommend beautiful women for the show. Dina recommended Teresa and there was a joke about if Teresa did the show, her husband would go to jail,” the eyewitness told the magazine. “Teresa said she does not know why Caroline [Manzo] did the show.”
“She said she f**ken shouldn’t have,” the source continued. “She said it is Jacqueline’s fault for her doing the show.”
“Teresa said she suckered Joe into doing the show and now that he is away, he has watched himself and says he was an a**hole,” the insider added.
“She said she is sad she let them into her house, to be betrayed by them,” the source said. “Fame and money will do that to family. She said you never go against family.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey returns to Bravo TV for season nine on Wednesday, November 7 at 9 p.m.
