Bethenny Frankel was questioned by her ex-husband Jason Hoppy‘s attorney, Robert Wallack, on Monday as the former couple’s custody trial over daughter Bryn, 8, continued. A therapist also took the stand this morning to share her thoughts on the former couple’s parenting dispute.
After the Real Housewives of New York City star accused Jason of “abuse” and “torture,” Robert brought up an explosive fight Bethenny had with Jason years ago and forced her to admit she once threw water on his client.
“There was a time where he was sleeping and you threw water at him, correct?” Robert asked, according to a report from Radar Online.
“I don’t know if he was sleeping, but I threw water on him,” Bethenny replied.
Robert then encouraged the reality star to look back on a testimony she gave during a divorce hearing in 2014.
“’I splashed water at him when he was sleeping. I cracked.’ Okay then yes,” Bethenny clarified after reading her past statement.
The custody trial resumed this morning, as a therapist revealed in court as Dr. Rami Mosseri, who also served as Bethenny and Jason’s former parent coordinator, took the stand.
The therapist, who worked with the exes from 2014 to 2015, acknowledged they could never agree on anything amid their “high-conflict” dispute, but added that Bethenny was usually more willing to compromise than Jason.
Dr. Mosseri stated that while Bethenny was “controlling” at times when it came to co-parenting, Jason was “extremely angry” and only saw things in “black and white.”
“Mr. Hoppy didn’t have it in him to find the middle for the sake of the child,” the therapist said in court.
Dr. Mosseri then revealed that Jason was very concerned about Bethenny’s boyfriends when it came to Bryn, going on to describe an incident that took place years ago.
“The boyfriend that she had at the time was residing with her at her new residence, and I didn’t see it as a huge problem at the time. But there was one time her boyfriend was getting out of the shower within Bryn’s vicinity. And I spoke to the mother about it, and she said that it was an innocent mistake, and she will make sure that it wouldn’t happen again,” said the doctor.
Bethenny and Jason split in 2012 after less than three years of marriage but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2016. Since then, the couple has been feuding over their custody arrangements for Bryn and last year, Bethenny requested more physical custody of the child, as well as “ultimate decision-making authority.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 11 airs on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
