Jenelle Evans and David Eason temporarily lost custody of three of their children last week and days later, they embarked on a getaway to Washington, D.C.
According to a new report, the fired Teen Mom 2 stars, who recently enrolled in marriage counseling and parenting classes, didn’t skip a beat after their failed attempt at regaining custody and quickly traveled from their home in North Carolina to the capital city.
“Jenelle and David are just treating this time like it is a vacation,” an insider revealed to Radar Online on May 31. “Jenelle and David went to Washington, DC after they had the kids taken away from them. They seem to be enjoying having no kids and no responsibilities.”
“She and David are acting like this is a treat for them,” the insider added.
On Twitter, The Ashley’s Reality Roundup confirmed Jenelle and David’s vacation on Saturday before confirming their return on Sunday.

At the end of last month, following five days of custody hearings, a judge ruled that Jenelle and David’s kids, including Maryssa, 11, Kaiser, 4, and Ensley, 2, should not return to their home. Days later, it was reported that the couple would continue to fight to regain custody of Kaiser and Ensley, but had given up their fight for Maryssa, who snubbed him during a supervised visit last month after being removed from Jenelle and David’s home weeks ago.
As Teen Mom 2 fans well know, CPS took Jenelle and David’s kids from their home after he shot their dog Nugget for nipping at Ensley.
Although Jenelle and David likely took in a number of sights in D.C., a rep for the ex-reality star told Radar Online that the couple had actually traveled north to attend meetings for her makeup line, JE Cosmetics.
As for the couple’s efforts to regain custody of Kaiser and Ensley, a second source said Jenelle is dedicated to getting her kids back.
“She signed up for parenting classes and marriage counseling,” the insider shared. “They’re looking to get David a psych evaluation for court. The court is ordering this next week, but in the meantime, they are jumping ahead so when they go they can say, ‘We’re working on our marriage, we’re working on this.’”
In addition to marriage counseling and parenting classes, David is also being forced to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. According to TMZ, this requirement was set by the judge on their custody case in hopes of finding the root of David’s anger issues.
While Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, has full custody of her oldest son, Jace, 9, she and David are hoping to regain visitation with him upon the completion of the terms set by their judge.
