Gina Kirschenheiter Accuses Husband Matt of Prior Incidents of Domestic Violence, Plus She Prepares to Fight for Full Custody of Kids

Gina Kirschenheiter is alleging in court documents that the recent incident of alleged domestic violence involving her estranged husband Matt Kirschenheiter was not the first time, as the Real Housewives of Orange County star prepares to fight for full custody of their three children.

In recently-released court documents, Gina claims Matt became “enraged” after they attended a friend’s birthday over the weekend. She admitted that it wasn’t the first time things got “ugly” between them.

“He was so angry; he was profusely sweating from head to toe. I was terrified,” Gina said of the June 22 incident in her court documents, via Us Weekly. “[Matthew] was screaming in my face saying he was going to f**king kill me. He ripped my bra strap off, then took a pillow and hit me on the side of the head with it hard. My ears rang. I begged him to stop… to calm down… but he kept hitting me.”

“Even when I was begging and pleading with him to stop because our children were home too, it had no effect on him,” Gina added.

Gina and Matt share three children, including Nicholas, 7, Sienna, 5, and Luca, 3.

Gina went on to reveal prior incidents of alleged domestic violence, stating that she and Matt began arguing after separating last summer. In August, an incident involving a gun occurred after they attempted to make an agreement regarding the living arrangements of their kids.

“I asked [Matthew] to leave me alone, but he wouldn’t stop yelling,” Gina said of the August 2018 incident. “I locked myself in my bedroom. He began yelling at me through the door saying, ‘Let me in! I need something from the closet!’ He eventually broke through the door and went straight to my closet.”

“I could hear him playing with his shotgun,” she recalled.

According to Gina, there have been “too many” upsetting incidents between her and Matt “to remember.”

“At this point, I have to protect me and our children. [Matthew] and I had attempted reconciliation in hopes of keeping our family together, but I now realize it’s better for us both to move on for the sake of our children,” Gina concluded. “I am heartbroken for all of us.”

Following Gina and Matt’s fight, the reality star was granted a temporary restraining order that keeps Matt from coming within 100 yards of her and their children. During the same hearing, Gina was awarded with temporary “legal and physical custody” of the kids.

As their divorce continues, Gina is reportedly planning to file for full custody.

“She does not want her kids to be scared, but she also knows that they know what is going on,” a source close to Gina told Radar Online, adding that Matt needs “professional help” for his issues.

“She just wants this divorce stat because it is clear to her that the bridge is beyond burnt,” the insider said.

Gina and Matt are due back in court on July 17.
