Just over a month after shocking text messages sent between Jim and his alleged mistress, Jennifer McFelia Villegas, were leaked, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star is confirming her marital status and explaining how she’s working through her husband’s shocking betrayal.
“We’re still married, we’re still together, we’re not separated,” Meghan explained during an interview with the Daily Mail on July 22. “We’re in the family home, we’re in the same bed. We’re not having therapy, we’re talking… With each passing day trust will rebuild, just like in any relationship that has been hit hard.”
Although Meghan initially admitted that she wasn’t sure she could believe Jim’s claims about his affair not being physical, she now says she knows her husband would never touch Jennifer because she looks “gross” and “disgusting.”
“I knew he would never touch her. That helped me,” she explained.
According to Meghan, she took a shower after learning the news of her husband’s inappropriate texting, which included a video message of Jim pleasuring himself sent to Jennifer on the day Meghan welcomed their twin boys. Then, amid feelings of being overwhelmingly alone and sad, she confronted Jim on FaceTime.
“He was extremely emotional, crying and remorseful,” she said. “But as we talked I just wanted to get everything out, get the truth out and start to build.”
After speaking with Jim, Meghan learned there was no physical relationship between him and Jennifer. Meghan slammed the other woman for stalking him.
“This woman is a con artist. She’s gone after so many baseball players. She was out to get some money and she got it, then she was on to the next one,” Meghan explained. “It was a baiting kind of thing. She would do that and move on. Believe me I am still mad at him but once I figured that out, what she was like, I was able to pull our family together. It actually made it more bearable.”
“I can’t relate to somebody like that because I’m not immoral,” she added.
Also during her interview, Meghan opened up about her son Hart’s recent brain damage diagnosis and confirmed that the damage is not progressive.
“We don’t yet know how it will affect the rest of his life, like speaking in sentences or his physical abilities… I’m just hoping that all the early intervention stuff we’re doing now is going to help him and by kindergarten he won’t be doing any more therapy at all,” she said.
“My faith helps me with everything and I have family here in Missouri,” Meghan continued. “I pray that things get back to what it was like before but better. We don’t want things to be the same or worse. We only have one place to go and that’s better.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County will return to Bravo TV on August 6 at 9 p.m. for season 14.
