In a post shared on Instagram over the weekend, Joe opened up about his failed marriage to wife Teresa Giudice and what wasn’t showing during their awkward reunion in Italy. Then, he suggested producers of the Bravo reality series have painted him as a villain and seemingly reacted to Joe Gorga‘s recent diss.
“No matter how much energy and time I devoted to trying it failed. I did my best and put all efforts into making this a great experience for my family,” he began.
According to Joe, he did try to rehash the issues in his marriage to Teresa when she came to Italy, a visit during which she told him she wanted to end their marriage and accused him of not taking responsibilities for his actions.
“I did try to address issues in the relationship that bothered me throughout the years in return [the show] portrayed it as Criticism! My key role was to always to be a great father and husband not the [villain],” Joe wrote.
Joe and Teresa separated after 20 years of marriage at the end of last year after Joe was released from ICE custody and relocated to Italy. Since then, they’ve been doing their best to co-parent their four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana, as their split plays out on episodes of RHONJ.
“Today I [see], I can’t allow others to keep lingering toxins and undesirable demands around me. I choose to have a solid foundation with strong and inspiring people around me in [Italy],” Joe continued in his post, which included a slideshow of family photos.
Also in the caption of Joe’s post, he included several hashtags, including “#toxicpeople,” which seemed to be a clap-back aimed at Gorga, who slammed him as “toxic” during an interview with In Touch Weekly days ago.
After being asked by the magazine why he is not following Joe on Instagram, Gorga explained, “I keep myself away from toxic people.”
He then took aim at the way Joe spoke to Teresa, claiming he “put her through hell” during their marriage.
