Teddi Mellencamp hosted a Q&A with her fans and followers on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, September 24, just two days after confirming she’s been fired from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
During her chat with her online audience, Teddi admitted that when it came to her axing, she wasn’t completely surprised before revealing how she learned her contract would not be renewed, dishing on her potential return to the show as a “friend,” and commenting on the possibility of a spinoff.
“Watching the season back, I kind of had an idea when all of these magical memories we had as a family were completely not shown. I was like, ‘Hm. Something’s up,’” Teddi explained to a fan about her firing.
According to Teddi, she first learned that she would not be featured on RHOBH season 11 on a phone call.
“I found out from my agent and manager. That was a fun phone call,” she laughed.
“I don’t think they got it wrong,” Teddi continued of her exit. “As cliche as it sounds, It was meant to be.”
Following the 10th season of RHOBH, Teddi faced backlash for confronting Denise Richards about her alleged affair with Brandi Glanville, and ultimately, just prior to her firing, a petition was launched in hopes of preventing her return.
“Nobody can make you do anything. And it was told to me on camera along with things about me. You all know what the show is about,” Teddi said in response to the criticism.
While Kyle and Sutton Stracke are the only cast members who have publicly reacted to Teddi’s exit, Teddi said the cast has struggled to find the right words in private.
“Who knows what to say? It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh. I can’t believe this. I am so sorry. This is crazy that this is happening,’” she shared.
While Teddi will no longer be seen on RHOBH in a full-time position, she believes the friendships she has made on the show will continue.
“I talk to [Erika Jayne], [Lisa Rinna], and Kyle almost every day. Dorit was so incredible when it came to everything that went down with my kids this year. Same with Sutton. Garcelle has reached out. I had so many laughs with the Fox Force Five so I can’t imagine not keeping in touch with them. I truly know in my heart that all the real friendships will continue on, show or no show,” she explained.
As for the possibility of returning in a “friend” role, Teddi said she would have to see what works for her and her family if the potential role was presented to her.
“Of course I’ve been asked that. I’m really trying to figure out what’s best for me and next steps and my family and work and all the things. So, I never say never about anything but I’ll just have to see,” she stated.
Teddi also told fans that she will “just have to see about” a spinoff.
