Katie Flood Reveals Conversation With Lexi Wilson That Didn’t Air on Below Deck Med and Teases Shocking Twists to Come on Season 6

Katie Flood is detailing a conversation she had with Lexi Wilson that viewers didn’t get to see before teasing a shocking twist that fans won’t see coming.

The Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew has been rather patient with Lexi so far this season as others who have served as chief stew within the franchise have said they would’ve immediately fired the Bahamian model following her drunken outburst. Though Katie definitely considered giving Lexi the boot at one point, she admits she took it easy on Lexi because she was empathetic to her situation.

“We found out she [lost] her dad,” Katie began while speaking to Hollywood Life last week. “I’m such an empathic. That was really hard for me because I don’t like to beat somebody when they’re down but at the same time, this girl can’t act this way. It was a real struggle to me to find that balance instead of being like, ‘OK sister, this is not all good,’ but also, ‘Are you OK?’”

In fact, according to Katie, she actually had a private conversation with Lexi regarding her mental health as she questioned whether the second stew could handle the chaos that comes along with the show due to her fragile state of mind.  Unfortunately, that moment was apparently left off the cutting room floor.

“I did say that to her at one point. I don’t think they showed it,” she revealed. “I said to her at one point, ‘I want you to think about this, Lexi. If you think this is the right environment for you. Your mental health is much more important than anything going on here and I will support you through that but I need you to be honest with me.’ It was a tough one for sure.”

Kate also shared that Lexi’s previous behavior on the boat is the reason she had such a tough time deciding whether to bring Delaney Evans on board before noting how “concerned” she was about Lexi isolating herself from the group.

I didn’t want her to act the way she did again that night and I didn’t know,” she explained. “She became really quiet and she didn’t really communicate with any of us where she was at, even just being OK with what she was going through.”

“She didn’t really talk to any of us about it, so I was really concerned,” Katie continued. “I was like, ‘This is going to go one of two ways. She’s either going to take this and be fine or not,’ and I don’t know what version I was going to get so I was just trying to be really real with her..”

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Katie said that fans are going to be stunned by what’s about to take place this season. Though many fans have been speculating that Lexi will likely create major drama again before the season’s end, Katie hinted that the stew isn’t the main source of what’s to come.

“What I can tell you is it’s not what you guys expect,” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet on September 7.

She added, “It’s so funny reading all the comments and stuff. Like people think you’ve got this all figured out. And nobody has any idea what’s about to happen. I don’t think it’s gonna be what viewers expect. And yeah, there’s a lot to come for sure.”

As fans have likely seen from the midseason trailer, Captain Sandy Yawn and Malia White almost come to blows after Malia fails to report an injury. And though Katie wouldn’t confirm whether she’s referring to the drama between the veteran crew members, she did hint that it definitely plays a role in the chaos to come.

“I can’t really say too much without spilling the tea,” she said. “But basically yeah, I think no one is gonna see what is coming. But I mean, one part of it yes. Also, a decision I make is about to come. And I stand my ground with that. I listened to my gut with that one. So you guys will see that one for sure. There’s definitely more in the works.”

Below Deck Mediterranean season six airs Monday nights on Bravo at 9/8c.
