During a new interview, Lisa spoke of her potential comeback before reacting to Lisa Rinna suggesting she “doesn’t have the balls” to return, dishing on Vanderpump Rules season nine, and revealing if she’s still in touch with the fired cast members of the show, including Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute.
“With this cast? No, it’d be impossible,” Lisa said of a RHOBH return while chatting with Entertainment Tonight. “Unless they kind of cleaned house, then maybe.”
According to Vanderpump, she’d go back to the show if it was just her, Garcelle Beauvais, and Sutton Stracke. That would mean that all of the women she previously starred alongside, including Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, and Rinna, would have to be fired.
“I hear Garcelle is very nice, and Sutton, I hear is doing a good job,” Vanderpump continued. “It’d be great. Just be Sutton, Garcelle, and me, right?”
Garcelle recently said she was open to having Vanderpump return and when asked about the comment, Vanderpump was pleased.
“Well, I think that’s a compliment. From what I hear, she’s a lovely woman … That’s very sweet that she would say that,” she said.
As for Rinna claiming she “doesn’t have the balls” to return, Vanderpump wasn’t shocked by the diss.
“She says a lot of negative things,” Vanderpump noted. “I certainly sat there for four reunions prior to the last one that I missed with them all ganging up on me.”
Moving on to the recently-premiered ninth season of Pump Rules, Vanderpump said that while the cast has “matured somewhat” and lost a number of their castmates, including Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, there’s still plenty of “emotional content” on the new episodes.
“I think it’s always sad to lose people that have been part of the initial success. But that was Bravo’s decision and we’ve moved on. This [season] is so kind of action-packed and there are so many storylines, and the cast is pretty big as it is. So I don’t think anything was, per se, missed,” she explained, adding that she no longer speaks to the former cast members.
“I don’t really have anything much to do with interacting with them,” she pointed out. “I did send baby presents and have kind of congratulated them and we have spoken, but they’re not part of my life unless they’re really on the show or working for me.”
Two cast members who are still part of Vanderpump’s restaurant are Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, who recently announced plans for an all-new hotspot, sans Vanderpump. Understandably, Vanderpump fears they may have bitten off more than they can chew.
“If you remember, when I set TomTom up, it was [my husband, Ken Todd], [our designer] Nick Alain, and I, we literally said, ‘OK, you guys can come in when it’s finished.’ There’s a lot that goes into running a restaurant, creating a brand… There’s a lot of things that maybe they weren’t aware of,” she explained.
Also in the interview, Vanderpump spoke of the tension brewing between Sandoval and Katie Maloney, who wants to be involved in the new restaurant.
“I felt that Katie had experience, but … they get supremely irritated with each other,” Vanderpump teased. “And you can see both sides, and that’s the story, isn’t it?”
Vanderpump Rules season nine airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
