RHOSLC's Meredith Marks Suspects Lisa and Jen Formed Alliance, Claims Lisa "Didn’t Speak Up" for Her, and Suggests She Was Being "Poked, Plus Live Viewing Thread

Meredith Marks doesn’t understand the friendship between Lisa Barlow and Jen Shah.

On the heels of part two of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion, Meredith shared her thoughts on the relationship, noting that her co-stars seemed to have formed an alliance during the season and shading Lisa for failing to speak up on her behalf.

“I do not understand the dynamic between Lisa and Jen. I don’t understand the friendship. I don’t understand how it evolved to the level it did as quickly as it did when they really didn’t know each other every well before Vegas at all. I don’t quite get the whole thing,” Meredith shared on the March 7 episode of the RHOSLC: After Show, also saying, “It didn’t add up. it didn’t make sense to me and that’s why I struggled so much to get my head around it.”

Although Meredith admitted Lisa and Jen’s relationship is “not [her] problem,” she found herself growing suspicious of their friendship amid season two.

“It made me think that they had some kind of alliance of some sort. And I’m not saying it means anything other than, ‘We agree to have each other’s back.’ But it did feel to me that something had gone on between the two of them and that Lisa was very much caught in the middle,” Meredith explained.

According to Meredith, it seemed like Lisa was constantly in the middle as she attempted to be supportive to both her and Jen. However, while Lisa claimed to take a stand against Jen in the midst of the drama involving Brooks Marks and her alleged liking of mean tweets, Meredith said she saw nothing of the sort.

“The conversation that I saw them have together, she didn’t speak up on my behalf that I saw. [And] all I really would have liked was for her in front of me to have looked at Jen and said, ‘Jen, you were wrong. You should never have done this,’” Meredith noted.

While Meredith doesn’t blame Lisa for not knowing how to navigate her friendships with her and Jen, and stated that Lisa was in a “very difficult place,” she felt Lisa was being poked by Jen.

“[I] saw a little snide remarks from Jen, like, ‘Well your friend whatever.’ So I know Lisa was being poked at there,” Meredith said.

Meredith also felt as if Lisa had an issue with her friendship with Heather Gay, who she’d known for years before joining the RHOSLC cast for season one, even though she actually distanced herself from her.

“I think she never liked that I was friendly with Heather. Even though… Heather at some point said to me, ‘I feel like you distanced yourself from me because of Lisa.’ And I don’t know if that’s a fair statement but I kept some space there, is how I’d word it. I knew it was upsetting to Lisa so I kept space there,” she revealed. “[But] I don’t think Lisa felt that way. I think she felt I was all in and I think there was a lot of speculation on her part about my friendship with Heather, just as there was from me about her friendship with Jen.”
