RHOBH's Dorit Kemsley on Why She Was Upset About Press Being at Sutton's Event After Speaking to Teddi for Extra at Kyle's Store

Dorit Kemsley is explaining why she was so upset about Sutton Stracke having press at her store event on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — even though she spoke to Teddi Mellencamp for Extra TV at Kyle Richards‘ store event just one week prior.

After she was seen fuming over the press that was set up outside of Sutton’s store, suggesting that her castmate was being selfish as she attempted to cope with her recent home invasion, Dorit took to her Instagram Story, where she responded to a person who pointed out that the two scenarios were quite different.

“Everyone talking about how Dorit was shocked about Sutton having press at her event without giving her a heads up and mentioning this previous interview… is forgetting the fact that this was an interview that she knew was going to happen alongside one of her best friends, Teddi, who cares about her,” the person had written.

And, in an additional message of support, a fan page set up for Dorit, wrote, “Showing people a little grace and love, especially in their hardest moments, would make the world a much better place.”

Dorit also responded to the comments herself, noting that her chat with Teddi, during which she spoke about being robbed at gunpoint at her $7.9 million Encino home, was something she set up in advance.

“I had agreed and organized an interview with [Teddi Mellencamp] ahead of time. There were no surprises,” she explained.

During an interview in January, Dorit explained why she continued on with her life, including her filming responsibilities for RHOBH, after going through the terrifying ordeal.

“Had there been any other outcome, you know, where my children had woken up and seen [what happened] — God forbid — it would’ve probably been different, and I wouldn’t have gone back into filming,” she told Us Weekly. “They didn’t know anything. So, I decided, you know, this is what I need to do, and it’s gonna help me. Rather than just stay home and wallow in this. I wanna keep life as normal as possible. I wanted to, you know, continue my commitment to the show.”

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live last month, Dorit confirmed that the suspects had not yet been caught.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
