Katie Maloney opened up about her divorce from Tom Schwartz on her Dear Media podcast earlier this month.
Four months after she and Tom officially announced the end of their 12-year relationship, Katie looked ahead to filming on the new season of Vanderpump Rules while admitting that she’s done “a lot of grieving” and discussing whether or not there was infidelity in her marriage.
“I feel like Tom and I, we’ve always been very, very open with our relationship—the good and the bad—on the show. And it’s never easy. I don’t look forward to airing it. But I’d rather be honest than try to manipulate or cover up or paint it in a different light, or anything like that,” Katie explained on a recent episode of You’re Gonna Love Me, via Female First.
According to Katie, she knows her best bet is to be present.
“I can’t go back to where I was six months ago,” she noted. “It has to be where I’m at now. I’ve done a lot of grieving and mourning and healing. So I can’t pick at those wounds and make myself keep going back to places that I don’t want to go back to when I’ve come so far.”
Although Katie confirmed there were “plenty of reasons” behind her divorce filing, things between her and Tom have remained civil.
“It’s been very peaceful, very loving. There was no infidelity. We just grew apart,” she shared. “We have a great friendship but things just happen sometimes, unfortunately. I’m always going to love Tom.”
In other Katie Maloney news, the longtime Pump Rules star took to her Instagram Story over the weekend, where she shared a photo of her living room at her new apartment and showed off the “vibes” of her space.
As Pump Rules fans well know, Katie moved into her new place weeks ago as she and Schwartz listed their Los Angeles home for $2.75 million (The couple has since slashed $154,000 off the price, bringing their new listing amount to $2.59 million).
The Vanderpump Rules cast is expected to begin filming season 10 in the coming weeks.
