Chrishell Stause hasn’t given up on her dreams of starting a family.
Although the 41-year-old Selling Sunset cast member has been dating nonbinary musician G Flip, 27, since splitting from ex-boyfriend Jason Oppenheim, 45, in late 2021 due to their differing thoughts on starting a family, Chrishell confirmed on her Instagram Story on Sunday that she has plans to adopt a child.
“You didn’t want to have children?” a curious fan asked Chrishell in response to a photo of her and G Flip.
“Please stop asking me this,” she replied, via Us Weekly. “At least this one didn’t include hate, I refuse to give a voice to by reposting. I plan on adopting.”
“I understand being on Selling Sunset entitles people to questions and my life in a way. But I am tired of this question … I fell in love with a person. It’s not that scandalous,” Chrishell added.
Then, when another fan suggested her fans were “confused” because she seemed so set on starting a family when she was with Jason but has since appeared to be unconcerned with her future, Chrishell further explained that her breakup from Jason was 100 percent caused by his hesitancies to settle down.
“I was looking to make a family with someone that wanted one as well,” Chrishell said in another Story. “And if someone doesn’t know if they will ever even want to have a child and is not open to adoption, then those are two things that don’t align for me. Nothing but love for my last relationship. But now I am going back to posting about my day. If you don’t understand after this answer then that’s OK. You don’t need to. Just know I am very happy and so is everyone involved.”
As for G Flip, they’ve also spoken of wanting children in the future.
“I definitely see children in my future,” G Flip shared on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast in May. “Right now, me and Chrishell know where we are in the stages of our lives. And we’re very transparent about that.”
“I love children. I was a music teacher for years before I became a session drummer and then a solo artist. So I was like, ‘I’ve always loved kids and, yeah, definitely one day that’ll be in the future,’” they added.
Back in May, in a post shared on Instagram, Chrishell addressed the confusion surrounding her sexuality.
“I’m the same person that you’ve been following this whole time,” she explained on Instagram months ago. “I hope if this is all confusing to you, stick around and keep an open mind. If you don’t, I understand that too. But I’m happy and I hope that you all are as well.”
Selling Sunset season six is expected to begin streaming on Netflix by the end of the year.
