Katie Maloney was put on blast during Saturday’s “Sur’ving Up the Latest” panel at BravoCon.
As the Vanderpump Rules cast was questioned about which cast member had the most “surprising” hookup of season 10, Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval confirmed that honor went to Katie, who announced her split from Tom in March of this year.
“Katie,” they replied in unison.
Then, during the Q&A portion of the panel, Katie admitted that while she hasn’t met Mr. Right quite yet, she’s “having fun” dating.
“I wouldn’t say I’ve met him yet … I’m having fun right now,” she shared. “I’ve just been happy.”
And during an interview at the fan-fueled event, Katie, 35, revealed she’s currently seeing a man who is 15 years younger than her ex, Tom, who’s 40.
“There’s a guy who’s, like, 25 that I’ve been hanging with. It’s fun,” she told Page Six. “Single girl Katie is having a good time. It’s just casual. It’s just fun. I haven’t been single since I was 24, and the landscape is totally different.”
According to Katie, she attempted to join the members-only dating app Raya. However, after her application wasn’t accepted, she ventured onto Instagram.
“They waitlisted me, so I thought, ‘This was a sign,’” she admitted. “Instagram works. You can just slide in some DMs. That’s what’s up. Instagram is kind of a dating app. Also, all the guys are kind of, like, young. But that’s kind of fun, too.”
As Katie dates and Tom continues to face rumors of a romance with Raquel Leviss, it’s not surprising that season 10 is expected to include plenty of “awkward [and] uncomfortable” moments between the former couple.
“I felt like I didn’t have a lot of people showing me a lot of empathy, let’s put it that way. A lot of friends who actually weren’t true friends,” Katie told E! News, adding that she and Tom did their best to “prioritize [their] friendship” amid their breakup.
“There wasn’t any hate or animosity or anything like that,” she explained. “I still wanted us to maintain a level of respect for one another, so I try to keep my life and what I was doing separate and private to not hurt him with that.”
Luckily, when it comes to where she and Tom stand today, Katie said, “We’re in a better place, I think.”
Also during the interview, Katie set the record straight in regard to Brock Davies‘ claim that she was disinvited from his and Scheana Shay‘s wedding in Mexico in August.
“I was not uninvited,” Katie insisted. “Let’s just say that’s not how it happened.”
Vanderpump Rules season 10 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or in early 2023.
