Nene Leakes may have dropped the discrimination lawsuit she filed against NBC, Bravo, Real Housewives of Atlanta producers, and Andy Cohen in August due to what an insider claimed was “insufficient evidence,” but during a new interview, she confirmed their legal battle is ongoing.
Before opening up about whether or not she was invited to take part in the events of BravoCon 2022 and shading her former RHOA co-star, Kandi Burruss, for being envious of her OG status, Nene admitted that she and her defendants “still have legal things” to handle, noting that her case was dropped due to a technicality.
During an interview with Larry Reid, via Radar Online, Nene said she is currently in mediation.
“The fact that we are in this situation is why we can’t talk personally,” she explained, noting that she “honestly [does not]” regret filing the discrimination case, in which she claimed to have endured years of racist comments from Kim Zolciak.
“From the day the series began filming, NeNe was the target of systemic racism from co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, which was tolerated by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen and other executives,” her attorney explained in her past filing.
And now, months later, Nene admitted to feeling like an abused child crying for help.
“Everyone acting like they don’t hear me,” Nene said. “I don’t know … I feel like my hands are tied. There is nothing I can do.”
Due to her ongoing legal battle with NBC, Bravo, and Andy, Nene said she was not invited to BravoCon.
“They did not invite me. They have not talked to me at all. I have made many attempts to try … it has been crickets,” she revealed.
As for her comments about Kandi, Nene said that while she doesn’t have an issue with her former RHOA castmate, she believes Kandi “has an issue with [her],” explaining that Kandi is “very competitive.”
“I’m not competitive like that I don’t see the purpose,” Nene stated.
According to Kandi, she feels Kandi is jealous that she was an original cast member of the show — and that many fans still think of her when they think of RHOA.
“I feel like her issue is with me,” Nene said.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 15 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo in 2023.
