Garcelle Beauvais is opening up about what fans can expect from the upcoming 13th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Before teasing the drama Denise Richards brought to the show and explaining how it differs now that Lisa Rinna isn’t on it, Garcelle spoke about Oliver Saunders‘ role on Vanderpump Rules and offered an update on friend Jamie Foxx‘s condition weeks after his mysterious hospitalization.
“I definitely stay in touch with the family,” Garcelle told E! News at the Best Buddies Mother’s Day Brunch on May 13. “I heard from the family, and they were like, ‘He’s good. Please don’t listen to what’s out there.'”
Although there have been dire reports regarding Jamie’s condition, his daughter, Corinne Foxx, said earlier this week that the actor and musician was out of the hospital and playing pickleball.
“I think people are reckless with information just because they want to be first,” Garcelle explained. “And so, it really hurt me because it took us all.”
After Jamie was hospitalized weeks ago, Garcelle took to her Instagram page, where she addressed his undisclosed medical concerns.
“This an appreciation post for my friend [Jamie Foxx],” she wrote on April 13. “J, I love you so much!!! I want [and] need you to get better soon, sending you light love and prayers.”
During another interview at the same event on Saturday, Garcelle admitted it “[hurt her] heart” that Oliver’s time with Raquel Leviss, who he kissed amid Pump Rules season 10 before being accused of cheating by his now-estranged wife, Samantha Saunders, was used in such a negative way.
“Obviously, he’s my son. And we don’t always make great decisions. And he was definitely separated at the time,” Garcelle told PEOPLE. “I didn’t watch the episode because I didn’t want to. But my friends were like… they were mad for me, and they were like, ‘We felt like Oliver was used.'”
Although Garcelle may not have appreciated how the storyline went, she said executive producer Lisa Vanderpump has been great.
“She stood up for him, and I appreciate that, and we move on,” she said of the former RHOBH star.
As for Rinna’s exit, Garcelle said things are “different” now that she’s gone.
“She definitely had an impact on the show, and I never want to take that away from her, but it’s different,” she shared. “It’s fresher. It’s a little… not as… I don’t want to pin that on her, but it’s definitely fresher. The friendships, we’re figuring it out… There’s, of course, drama because there’s always going to be, but it’s just different.”
Upon Rinna’s exit, it was noted that Denise had returned.
“I think it was great,” Garcelle said of the decision. “She brought a lot of comedy. She brought a lot of drama. It was fun.”
Back in March, after telling PEOPLE season 13 would “get back to old school Beverly Hills” in terms of “glamor and fun,” Garcelle said she’d love to see Vanderpump reprise her role.
“Lisa Vanderpump would be fun. I would love that,” she said
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year.
