Jax Taylor is staying in contact with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, and their three-year-old son, Cruz, while receiving mental health care at an in-patient treatment center.

As Brittany, 35, continues to film The Valley season two and work at their bar, Jax’s Studio City, amid rumors of a romance with Bachelorette alum Tanner Courtad, 31, Jax, 45, has allegedly remained in Los Angeles for treatment and stayed “in communication with son Cruz.”

“He’s still in communication with Brittany and his son,” an insider told Daily Mail on August 6. “He is unsure how long he will be staying. It’ll be however long he needs.”

As Jax addresses his mental health struggles, Brittany is focused on caring for Cruz.

“Brittany’s priority is taking care of their son while Jax is away, and she is making sure Cruz still gets to speak to his father,” a second source explained.

As fans well know, Jax and Brittany separated in February, months before their five-year wedding anniversary. And around that time, Brittany moved out of their $1.9 million Valley Village home and into a nearby Airbnb.

“Brittany is supportive of Jax seeking treatment. She has been begging him to get therapy for years, so she’s glad he’s finally decided to get help for his mental health struggles,” the insider revealed.

As for the future of their marriage, Jax and Brittany have put any talks on pause.

“Jax and Brittany have put a pause on their relationship. They are still separated and dealing with their marital problems. Now it’s about Jax getting help for his mental health before they can continue their conversation about their marriage and what’s next,” the source shared.

While there had previously been talks about a potential reconciliation between Jax and Brittany, Brittany has been spending time with Tanner since meeting at a Bachelorette watch party on July 15 at Jax’s Studio City.

“Brittany has been happier lately and less stressed, and her happiness is contributing to her eating healthier and living a healthy lifestyle,” another source stated. “Separation and the time apart from Jax has been a really good thing for her for sure.”

Brittany has also recently paid off a $35,000 tax lien that was placed against her and Jax’s marital home earlier this year. As Daily Mail confirmed, a release on the state tax lien was filed by the Franchise Tax Board of the State of California on July 26.

The Valley season two is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
