RHONJ's Marty Caffrey Fires Back at Danielle Staub

Marty Caffrey is defending himself against his estranged wife Danielle Staub‘s recent claims against him.

Following an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show earlier this week, during which the Real Housewives of New Jersey star slammed Marty for drinking “heavily” and making their marital troubles public on social media, he issued a response.

“This is not my world nor do I have any further interest in it. These are manufactured celebrities in manufactured lives who manufacture their own truths,” Marty said in a statement to Us Weekly on October 4. “I look forward to getting back to MY reality among real people. My loving family and my vast amount of friends.”

“This is my statement,” he concluded. “Nothing more. I’m not going to dignify her absurd, defamatory and false comments.”

During her appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Danielle told Wendy that Marty had been known to hit cocktail hours “a little bit heavily.”

“I think all of us it changes, I just don’t think it changes him for the better or his ability to maneuver through what’s going on,” she explained of his drinking habits.

Also during the show, Wendy asked the reality star if her estranged husband “liked being a ‘House-husband.’” In response, Danielle said Marty’s “want for this attention” really “disappointed her.”

“You can’t go into the public and be tweeting and Instagraming about your wife or your spouse,” she explained. “You just don’t do that.”

Marty filed for divorce from Danielle in September after four months of marriage. However, it was July when he first went public with their marriage struggles on Instagram. Since then, the couple has filed and dropped requests for restraining orders against one another.

In Danielle’s restraining order request, she described an encounter with Marty, during which he was allegedly “under the influence of alcohol, agitated and confrontational.”

In a separate interview, Danielle revealed how she’s coping with her divorce.

“Fiercely I will push through this and like a warrior,” she told People. “I will overcome everything like I always do. I will always land on my feet. And I’m not changing who I am. I might end up alone for the rest of my life, but I’ll be happy. I’m proud of myself. I’ve come a long way.”

“He doesn’t like me and he doesn’t like my children,” Danielle continued. “My kids have never been anything but respectful and lovely towards him even though he hasn’t been the same towards their mom. They don’t have to like him, but they respected him. … I wish that I would have received the same from his children. They have a perception of me from being on TV and I never got a chance to break them of that. It was always, ‘I’ll handle it my way, I know how to handle it.’ But everything gets swept under the rug so much that the table can no longer sit on the floor.”

According to Danielle, she isn’t blaming her divorce solely on Marty and isn’t actually sure what exactly led o their split.

“I own my part in it,” she said. “I know I’m not perfect — I’m not hiding from anything that I’ve done. It takes two people for any relationship. He and I both did our damage. But I own everything I do in the moment, when I do it. … If I hurt somebody, I’m going to say ‘I’m sorry’ immediately. … And he was never sincere.”

“I’m extremely disappointed and I really wish that things between he and I would have gotten better,” she added. “I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out and pinpoint what the exact reason is. And I can’t tell you. … I don’t know if he and I know what it is. I just think that we both wanted it to be great and it’s just not great.”

Danielle also said she has no plans to return her wedding ring to Marty.

“He’s not getting the ring back,” she laughs. “Nobody can say they want something back they gave to me I didn’t ask for.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey season nine premieres on November 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
