LuAnn de Lesseps is speaking out about last month’s taping of The Real Housewives of New York City season 11 reunion.
During a chat with Reality Blurb last week, LuAnn told us there was “tons of crying” during the taping, which happened to take place on her birthday, May 17, before sharing details about her upcoming performance on Watch What Happens Live and commenting on her potential role on the show’s 12th season.
“There’s always a lot of drama and there’s always a lot of… the meeting of the so-called minds in terms of what happened the whole season and talking about that,” LuAnn explained. “There’s lots of crying and kissing and hugs and a lot of, I think, resolution.”
Filming reunions has been known to be quite draining for cast members, and for host Andy Cohen, but after filming several over the years, LuAnn has developed a formula to maintain her sanity after the hours-long tapings.
“I try to put what happens on the show, especially after the reunion, on the back-burner and just take care of myself and treat myself well,” she said, adding that she does yoga to cool off.
LuAnn also said she takes time for herself and does her best to stay focused on the things in her life that truly matter.
“[I take] time for myself and just focus on the important things, which are my family, my children, my sobriety and all that,” LuAnn explained.
“…And my cabaret!” she added, citing her successful #CountessandFriends show.
In addition to her ongoing cabaret tour, LuAnn revealed to us that she will soon be seen performing alongside Andy on a special episode of his late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live.
“I will be performing for the 10th anniversary, which is coming up on June 26,” she shared.
As for her future on The Real Housewives of New York City, LuAnn commented on the swirling reports claiming she and Tinsley Mortimer might not be returning next season.
“Rumors are rumors and I can’t see why I wouldn’t come back for season 12,” she stated.
The Real Housewives of New York City season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
