Mercedes “MJ” Javid can no longer carry children.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on Monday, July 8, the Shahs of Sunset cast member shared the devastating news with her fans and followers while looking back on her past pregnancy with a throwback photo taken by photographer Shannon Laurine during a pregnancy shoot months ago.
“Since I can never carry a baby again, I’m extremely grateful to those who made sure I had this shoot, and keep this memory forever,” MJ, 46, began.
“My heart is fragile and vulnerable. I wish I had the compassion I have now, as a new mom, all of my life. But now I am learning to have a deeper appreciation about why growth in life is such an important gift,” she continued. “I want to be better, and stronger. Lately, most days are a challenge.”
Days later, MJ opened up about why she spent time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after Shams’ birth.
“During my delivery, I lost two thirds of my body’s blood supply, requiring 19 units of blood during the surgery, then [was] intubated and placed in ICU from having significant fluid in my lungs after my C-section,” MJ told Us Weekly.
At the end of last year, shortly after MJ confirmed her baby news, she told In Touch Weekly magazine she was “definitely” hoping to have more kids with Tommy.
“We have embryos, and we’re also open to adoption,” she shared.
