Jax Taylor is revealing where he stands with James Kennedy today. He’s also addressing the DJ’s return to SUR Restaurant after being fired from his job last year during production on the seventh season of Vanderpump Rules.
Following news of James’ newfound sobriety and potential reconciliation with his former nemesis, Katie Maloney, who demanded he be axed after he poked fun at her size, Jax is reacting to James’ return to the West Hollywood hotspot and weighing in on James’ claims of being a new man.
“To be honest I’ve spoken to James maybe 3 times in the last year in passing for a few minutes each time,” Jax told a fan. “I gotta give him credit, he’s made a lot of positive changes and he looks a lot healthier. Proud of him, the dj life can be rough but it looks like he has it under control.”

One fan felt that James should look into getting a prescription for Antabuse, which deters addicts from drinking. The fan asked Jax if he had mentioned it, and Jax told them that James’ decision to take, or not take, medication was “not our business.”
“That’s for him, his girlfriend [Raquel Leviss] and his family to discuss,” he explained. “[We] all need to just take care of ourselves unless they ask for help.”

At the end of last month, James spoke to Us Weekly and confirmed he was “10 weeks” sober.
“It’s been really good. Everything’s beautiful,” he told the magazine. “I’ve been focusing on my sobriety and it’s been going really well. … Music has been just so good lately. I haven’t been procrastinating on sh*t.”
In the same interview, the Pump Rules cast member weighed in on Jax’s drama with his costars, including Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, Kristen Doute, and Scheana Marie, who he no longer follows on social media.
According to James, Jax unfollows people “when he gets mad” and “doesn’t mind blocking people because he just doesn’t really care about Instagram.”
In addition to seemingly smoothing things over with Jax, James is also now in the good graces of Lala Kent, which he confirmed at the end of July as they worked on new music at a Los Angeles studio.
