At the end of this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Monique Samuels fired back at Candiace Dillard-Bassett‘s filing second-degree assault charges after their altercation, countering with charges of her own. Candiace said that Monique “didn’t have a case” against her, but now, Monique is sharing the behind-the-scenes details of the matter and showing how much of a case she truly did have.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday night, Monique shared an email showing her “case” against Candiace, and she shared the details from a Maryland court to rebuttal Candiace’s charges.
“But I did have a case …. and all charges were dropped 🤔 #RHOP,” the reality star wrote on Twitter.
The message informed Monique and her lawyer that they would “not be moving forward with either complaint” and that they would be filing to “drop the charges” in the case.

Speaking on the Real Housewives of Potomac: After Show, both women discussed the issue at hand and the emotions it raised with Candiace first saying how “hurt” she actually was by the counter move from Monique.
“I was just shocked…I was hurt. I was so angry, I was so mad,” Candiace stated, tearing up at the thought of the situation. “I was mad at Monique, I was mad at myself, I was mad in general, I was mad at everybody, because I felt like how are we here? How did we get here? How is this what we’re talking about? How is this the topic of conversation?”
Monique, for her part, said that she never wanted to counter and had “no desire” to see Candiace in court or “sue her civilly,” but she was pushed to that place since Candiace’s first filing of the charges, which would potentially put her in jail away from her family.
“I’m the one who walked away with an injury to my lip and I spent $900 at the dentist to get everything checked out and cleaned and all that other stuff. I didn’t say, ‘You know what, she needs to pay for that.’ I just wanted it to be done. I just wanted to move forward, figure out what the issues are, and just keep it moving,” Monique shared. “For her to have pursued this…those are the actions that make me say there will never be any reconciliation because you really wanted this mother-of-three to be in prison. Like…it’s just nasty!”
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs every Sunday at 9/8c on Bravo.
