In a new interview, the Grande Dame took a few of her castmates to task, including Robyn Dixon for her recent age-shaming. She also called out Gizelle Bryant for her allegedly failing beauty company business.
“Ageism needs to be erased because let’s talk about it. We were taught to be a different 50, okay? And it’s not a midlife crisis, it’s a midlife celebration, and we’re doing the dang thing!” Karen exclaimed on The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday, responding to Robyn’s shade in this week’s episode regarding her hat shoot.
“How do you really feel about being cut out of her online promotion of the hats?” Wendy questioned Karen.
“That’s Robyn who was doing the age-shaming and shame on her,” Karen responded. “Again, they don’t understand because they don’t have the wisdom that we mature women have. Now, Robyn is a hard 40, and lookin’ every day of it, but…I really feel like she shot herself in the foot with this because we 50-year-olds can afford her product. In fact, the 20-year-olds that wanna buy Robyn’s hats come to their mama for the money, so she just shot herself in the foot.”
Karen went on to say, “I took time out of my business schedule, Wendy, to do that for her and she did not pay me. I come at a high price. But I’m not gonna say to not buy Robyn’s hats. Teach her a hard lesson and buy her hats, support her please, she needs the help.”
Meanwhile, Robyn took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to…maybe throw a little shade back?
The mother-of-two modeled a new item from her Embellished line, a hoodie that said, “Sooo Unbothered.”
In addition to taking down Robyn, Karen wasted no time to come for another one of her foils: Gizelle.
“If Gizelle needs some help in how to grow a brand, tell her to call my people, okay? You don’t put out a makeup line and have it disappear without saying ‘bye’ to your customers who supported you,” Karen shared. “EveryHue is no longer available to any customer — it was liquidated, let’s just go ahead and say that. But I’ll help [her] if she needs some help!”
The 57-year-old continued to share how Gizelle “demands a lot of all of us in the friendship circle” but “never reveals anything about herself,” calling out her co-star for being somewhat secretive about her relationship with Jamal Bryant.
“She said Jamal was her new man again, but he’s never present with us, he’s always in the phone. I find that questionable,” Karen shared. “When a man loves you, he should be on your arm and vice versa. We never saw Jamal, and we’ve heard so many horrific rumors, you know? That’s what the reunion is about, getting to the bottom of this.”
