Kathryn Dennis is speaking out against the legal system amid her ongoing custody battle with her ex-boyfriend, Thomas Ravenel, the father of her two kids, six-year-old Kensington and four-year-old Saint.
After the Southern Charm cast member lost custody to Thomas amid claims of drug use and parental neglect, she took to her Twitter page, where she suggested she’d been mistreated by lawyers and manipulated by the system in a series of tweets.
“I need to scream this so I’m going on Twitter, it’s a shame what some lawyers are willing to do. Can anyone relate?” Kathryn asked on March 23.
Although Kathryn didn’t share any details in regard to what the lawyers had done, she proceeded to share two additional posts about being manipulated by the legal system.
“It’s time to start advocating for the people who get manipulated by the legal system. And against those who use the legal system to manipulate,” she wrote.
Following the news of Kathryn’s custody loss, Thomas’ attorney released a statement but failed to give an exact reason why Kathryn is being restricted to supervised weekend visits with their children.
“I can confirm the information released last week that Ms. Dennis currently has weekend, daytime supervised visitation with the parties’ minor children and that Mr. Ravenel plans to relocate with the children to Aiken, South Carolina this summer,” Thomas’ attorney said in a statement shared with PEOPLE on March 9.
“Due to the sensitive nature of the issues involved, all documents in this case have been sealed, meaning the public cannot access them,” he continued.
Although Kathryn and Thomas had agreed to share custody of Kensington and Saint in late 2019, Thomas filed for a modification last year as he announced plans to move the children to his $1.8 million home in Aiken, South Carolina, which is about two and a half hours from where Kathryn resides in Charleston.
