Did Erika Jayne‘s estranged husband, Thomas Girardi, transfer money to her entertainment company that was meant for his clients?
According to a new report, the trustee appointed to handle Thomas’ involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy case wants to hire lawyer Ronald Richards to investigate the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member’s finances in hopes of proving just that.
In court documents obtained by Radar Online on April 27, a motion states, “Continuing investigation may reveal that assets of the Debtor were transferred to Erika Girardi (aka Erika Jayne), Thomas Girardi’s Spouse, either directly or to one or more people or entities on her behalf, or to other transferees of assets from Erika Girardi or her related entities.”
Thomas is believed to owe clients at least $26 million in settlement money and has faced numerous lawsuits because of it.
As the motion continued, it was noted that the trustee believes Ronald’s potential investigation will lead to a lawsuit being filed against the RHOBH star. As explained, Ronald will handle “all matters relating to the Erika Transfers” including investigation, “written discovery, depositions, court appearances,” and other issues.
Although the judge has not yet signed off on the trustee’s request, the sale of Erika and Thomas’ $16 million Pasadena home was recently authorized, which means the property could be put on the market at any time. That said, rather than $16 million, the home will be put up for sale for just $13 million.
As RHOBH fans may have seen, Erika attempted to stop the home from being listed in court last month and claimed she should be given $600,000 from the proceeds.
