Leah McSweeney Dishes on Feud With Heather Thomson, Says “She’s Lucky Cameras Were There,” And Explains Why She Had Plastic Surgery, Plus She Teases Sonja and Luann Drama

Leah McSweeney admits to losing her temper on Heather Thomson, and talks plastic surgery, as she dishes on the new season and explains why she believes Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps have “deep-seated issue.”

While promoting the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City, Leah dished on her feud with Heather, which made headlines in March but will play out on the new season. According to the mother-of-one, she will never “f*ck with” her former co-star ever again.

“[Heather] most likely planted a story in Us Weekly – which is why I’ll never talk to [her] again – saying that I bum-rushed her off the show and that I was acting exploitative, [and] acting for the cameras,” Leah said on the Chicks in the Office podcast. “I’m, like, trying to stay sane on the cameras so people won’t know how batsh*t [crazy] I really am. She’s really lucky the cameras were there, to be honest.”

If fans recall, Heather claimed she quit the show due to Leah’s “demeaning and exploitative” behavior. But then, on April 28, Heather took it a step further and alleged she was “assaulted,” seemingly by Leah while filming season 13. Though Leah didn’t mention the alleged assault, she did say she lost her temper on the Yummie founder during a cast trip.

“Sometimes you just don’t vibe with people, you know? She’s just kind of that chick that’s like, ‘You shouldn’t do this and I know everything,’ and I’m just not with that. That’s just not my cup of tea,” she explained. “And it wasn’t an easy trip for me, because my grandmother was passing away. Maybe I would have been in a little different mood if the [trip] hadn’t been [stressful]. But we’ll just never vibe regardless. But would I have lost my temper [if I wasn’t stressed]? Maybe not. I don’t know.”

Leah also discussed the changes she’s made to her body via plastic surgery in the past year. The reality star has been candid about her nose job and breast implants, even debuting the results on Instagram, and she explained why she felt the need to go under the knife in the first place.

“It’s not like I have a new face,” she said. “If someone wants to go get a new face, like, God bless, whatever, but I was not trying to change myself. I was just trying to upgrade.”

“I’m turning 39, and when I’m 40, I want to be in the best shape of my life, and look the best I’ve ever looked in my life,” she continued. “And you know what, Sonja, Ramona [Singer], Luann – these women are 57 and 64 – they look f*cking damn good. Like, they’re making me work! I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, look at these b*tches.’ They’re killing it! Look at them, they’re incredible! So, I have to keep up with them.”

Leah also offered some insight into the moment in the season 13 trailer where Sonja is seen fussing at Luann for constantly talking about her now ex-boyfriend Garth Wakeford. According to Leah, Luann wasn’t even that serious about Garth and she believes underlying issues between Sonja and the countess is really to blame for the apparent blowup between the women.

“I don’t even think Luann talked about him that much,” she insisted. “I don’t even think they were in that serious of a relationship. I mean, she describes it on the show and they hang out as friends, but they play kissy-kissy or whatever you wanna call it.”

She added, “I think there’s some kind of deep-seated issues between Sonja and Luann regarding men because of Tom [D’Agostino] and Harry [Dubin], and other strange, Upper East Side, bottom-feeding, weird a** has-been people. And yeah, Sonja does explode over it.”

The Real Housewives of New York City season 13 premieres on May 4 at 9/8c on Bravo.
