REPORT: Vanderpump Rules Alum Stassi Schroeder Lands New Book Deal About Hitting "Rock Bottom" and Fans Aren't Happy About It

Stassi Schroeder is reportedly releasing a new book next year, and online, fans appear to be quite upset about not only the upcoming publication but also its theme.

After a Bravo fan page on Instagram shared a screenshot of the description of the former Vanderpump Rules star’s alleged new book, social media users flooded the account with backlash after learning the publication would be about Stassi hitting “rock bottom.”

According to a report from Heavy, Stassi’s book is titled, Off with My Head: The Definitive Basic B-tch Handbook to Surviving Rock Bottom. And after Bravo by Betches provided a description of the publication on Instagram, fans and followers of the page sounded off in the comments.

“The New York Times bestselling author of Next Level Basic and fan-favorite alumna of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules returns from cancellation and pregnancy with the definitive Basic B-tch handbook for surviving bad days (or years),” the description read.

Following the post, a number of social media users reacted to the book, many of whom questioned the legitimacy of “cancel culture” and others who shaded Stassi for suggesting she was ever at “rock bottom.”

“Here’s your daily reminder that cancel culture is not real,” one person wrote.

“People with book deals haven’t been canceled,” another noted.

“Rock bottom???! I think not,” said someone else as another person noted that the topic of the publication was “entirely tone deaf.”

“I wouldn’t call that rock bottom,” a fifth person agreed.

In June 2020, after exhibiting racist behavior against Faith Stowers, the only Black cast member of Pump Rules, by suggesting she committed crimes she actually had nothing to do with, Bravo fired Stassi from the show. And while that moment was surely challenging for Stassi, she has since married husband Beau Clark and welcomed her first child, Hartford Charlie Rose Clark, and she has continued living in her $1.7 million home in Los Angeles.

While Stassi hasn’t yet confirmed the book news, her author page on publisher Simon & Schuster’s website does say that the former Pump Rules cast member is “the author of Off with My Head and Next Level Basic.”

In an April 2019 interview with the Observer, Stassi said she’s always wanted to be an author, citing her enrollment at Loyola Marymount University.

“Thankfully my dad let me major in English writing, because it was my favorite subject and I really just have always enjoyed writing,” she revealed.

After acknowledging that her experience writing her first book, Next Level Basic: The Definitive Basic Bitch Handbook, was “way harder than [she] thought,” Stassi said she struggled with structure the most.

“Once that was done it was so much easier, because then you’re not just sitting in front of your computer thinking, What do I want to write about?” she explained.

Vanderpump Rules season nine airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
