Jennifer Aydin shared some upsetting news with her fans and followers on Twitter on Friday.
Just over a week after Margaret Josephs shockingly confirmed on The Real Housewives of New Jersey premiere that her husband, Bill Aydin, had cheated on her years ago, Jennifer said that her daughter, 14-year-old Gabby Aydin, had been checked on at school following the reveal.
“Gabby’s guidance counselor called her into the office today to see if she was OK,” Jennifer tweeted on February 11. “I think she felt more embarrassed than anything. My kids are OK as long as they know their parents are OK. So, please don’t ask them about this. Makes it easier.”
Jennifer also shared a message to her online audience on Instagram after a Bravo fan page shared a telling message with their own followers.
“It’s never ok to drag the kids into this. We’re sorry your kids are going through this [Jennifer Aydin],” the page had written.
And, along with a re-sharing of the page’s post, Jennifer posted a request.
“Message to everyone- just please don’t mention it to them… let it go away,” she begged.
Earlier this month, during an interview with Page Six, Jennifer revealed that her nine-year-old daughter, Olivia, was the first of her four children to mention her husband’s affair to her and said the child came across the news on TikTok.
“My sweet little Olivia… saw a TikTok that said ‘the big secret,’” Jennifer recalled.
And while Olivia tried to refute the claim, Jennifer knew she had to be honest with her and the rest of her and Bill’s kids, including Justin, 17, Gabriella, 14, Jacob, 12, and Christian, 10.
“I realized [my kids] will react to however Mommy’s acting. I put on a brave face and said, ‘Listen, Daddy did a bad thing. But that doesn’t mean that he’s a bad person. And when we love people, we forgive them when they make mistakes. And I’ve forgiven him and I’m OK.’ She wasn’t upset because I wasn’t upset,” Jennifer explained.
Jennifer also shared how Gabriella responded to the heartbreaking news, saying that she was “crushed” and “felt betrayed.”
