PHOTOS: RHOBH Alum Teddi Mellencamp Reveals She May Have Skin Cancer, Admits She Put Off Getting Checked and Thanks Kyle Richards

Teddi Mellencamp may have melanoma.

On Wednesday, in a series of photos and videos shared to her Instagram Story, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum told her fans and followers that after going to the doctor to have her skin checked at the prompting of her husbandEdwin Arroyave, her former co-star, Kyle Richards, and another friend, she was forced to undergo a biopsy.

“They think I have melanoma… going to get a biopsy. So check your moles, folks,” Teddi said as she laid on her stomach in a doctor’s office.

Teddi then shared a series of photos, the first of which appeared to include an example of what skin cancer looks like compared to an image of her own skin.

“Praying it’s not. But get skin checked once a year folks. I have been ignoring [because] of my anxiety,” Teddi admitted in the caption of the post, along with a crying emoji.

“Well. Results back Friday,” she added in a second caption, which accompanied an image of her skin after a portion was cut out.

According to Teddi, she knew that she needed to go to the doctor to have her skin checked. But because she was too afraid of what the doctor may find, she put it off for years.

Continuing on in her second Instagram Story, Teddi, who starred on seasons eight through 10 of RHOBH, thanked her loved ones for holding her accountable and making sure she would honor her doctor’s appointment.

“[Edwin, Kyle, and Jenn Leipart] have been telling me for years to go get checked,” Teddi shared. “I waited [too] long [because] of my own fear. Grateful to them for holding me accountable to going today.”

RHOBH Teddi Mellencamp Skin Cancer Scare

Teddi’s cancer scare comes just over a week after her fellow ex-Housewives star, Braunwyn Windham-Burke of The Real Housewives of Orange County, begged her online followers to get themselves checked.

“My cousin died when he was 36 of melanoma. F*ck cancer, and get yourself checked, PLEASE. All of this from one little ‘mole,’” Braunwyn wrote. “Do yourself and your family a favor and book your appointment today. Embrace the scars that might come with it, but embrace the importance of your health and life as well.”

Tamra Judge and Bethenny Frankel have also publicly discussed their bouts with skin cancer.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 is expected to premiere on Bravo this spring.
