EXCLUSIVE: RHONY Alum Dorinda Medley on Life Post-Pause, Who She'd Pick for Season 14, and Why OGs Are Needed, Plus Radio Show and Weight Loss

Dorinda Medley may have been put on “pause” in August 2020 after a six-season stint on The Real Housewives of New York City, but that doesn’t mean she’s been sitting idle ever since. In fact, that’s far from the case.

In addition to joining the second season of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, which was filmed at her beloved Bluestone Manor, Dorinda has been keeping busy with her new book, 2021’s Make It Nice, her new SiriusXM Radio show, Make It Nice With Dorinda Medley, and other projects — all while fans beg for a Bravo return.

“The pre-COVID life is just not there for me anymore,” Dorinda admitted to Reality Blurb on March 22. “After I was put on pause, I was lucky to get this wonderful partnership with Nutrisystem and I wrote my book, ‘Make It Nice,’ and then I launched my bourbon, I’m doing a home line of candles, now I have the radio show, I just feel like it’s all coming together.”

Although Dorinda is so grateful for her Bravo platform, telling us it was “such a blessing,” and that she’ll always consider herself a Bravolebrity, she’s currently enjoying the doors it has opened for her. That said, she’s not writing off the idea of a return. And, when asked which personalities she’d include in RHONY season 14, she was quick to say herself.

“I’d pick me!” she exclaimed.

Dorinda then said the show is in need of some OGs.

“I don’t know what direction they’re moving in. I think it’s a big move, a big chess move this year… [But] they definitely need some OGs on there. They definitely need some blast from the past girls. I think they really need to, because I think people miss a little bit of the old school,” she explained.

As for which OGs she’d like to join her on the upcoming episodes, Dorinda named Luann de Lesseps and said she’s also “very close” to Sonja Morgan.

“I feel that would be very easy because we’ve known each other off and on the show,” Dorinda continued of her ideal cast. “We all live out here. We know each other’s kids. That’s not the show — that’s the reality.”

In the meantime, Dorinda is focused on her radio show, Make It Nice with Dorinda Medley, which airs on Radio Andy every Thursday.

“[It] is very exciting because God knows I love to connect with my audience,” she gushed.

According to Dorinda, she’s still trying to figure out a format for her series. However, she has a huge call-in audience (“So everybody call in 844-305-ANDY,” she advises).

“I’ve done one show so far and we didn’t have any guests because we’re kind of feeling it out, what kind of show it’s going to be,” Dorinda explained. “Is it going to be mainly call-in and trending topics? [But] I would like to eventually have guests.”

Also during our interview with Dorinda, the RHONY alum revealed she’s lost nearly 20 pounds as she continues her two-year journey as an ambassador for Nutrisystem.

“They came to be during COVID when I was getting a little heavy, which I guess I didn’t realize it. As I always as a joke, I was both thrilled and insulted. But it was great,” Dorinda laughed. “So I took it on and believe it or not, I lost 16 pounds. And it was so good because they have a huge variety.”

Because she so thoroughly enjoyed the huge variety of foods offered by the company, paired with the fact that she’s no longer required to grocery shop for herself, Dorinda kept aboard the program as she relocated from Bluestone Manor back to her longtime apartment in the Big Apple — and lost two more pounds.

Regarding her future goals, Dorinda told us that although she does want to lose three more pounds, her main focus is “being healthy and feeling good.”
