Stassi Schroeder is devastated by Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz‘s recent split.
Although the former Vanderpump Rules star is said to be well-aware of the valiant effort that was put into staying together, she’s reportedly heartbroken over her friends’ decision to call it quits and hopes they will be able to remain friends as they prepare to divorce.
“Stassi is heartbroken for Tom and Katie because they’ve shared so many memories together as friends,” a friend of Stassi’s told Hollywood Life on March 28. “Out of everybody in their circle of friends, Stassi is probably the most affected by this because she’s the closest to them as a couple.”
“She even went on their honeymoon with them, so this is obviously affecting her on so many levels,” the friend continued. “But when it comes down to it, Stassi only wants the best for her friends.”
As Katie and Tom continue living together at their $1.9 million home in Valley Village, Stassi is doing her best to support her longtime best friend.
“Stassi knows Tom and Katie tried everything to make their marriage work, but she hopes they can remain friends because they’ve shared so much history together. Stassi has been by Katie’s side constantly as she transitions into this new chapter in her life. Stassi trusts Tom and Katie, and despite her wishing they could work things out, she supports and loves them both,” the friend added.
In addition to relying on Stassi amid this challenging time, Katie is also leaning on Pump Rules co-star Lala Kent, who split from Randall Emmett in October 2021 after he was allegedly caught cheating.
“Katie is so thankful she has an amazing group of girlfriends around her and she’s been leaning heavily on Stassi and Lala,” a source previously told Hollywood Life. “Katie loves that she has another single friend now in Lala so they can support each other and know what the other is going through.”
In other Pump Rules news, fans have taken note of a telling Instagram post shared by Tom on February 4, just days before he and Katie separated on February 12.
“It’s Friday, I’m in love,” Tom wrote in the caption of a photo of himself and Katie in seemingly happier times.
One month prior, Tom showed off a thoughtful *NSYNC gift set he got for his wife for her 35th birthday.
Vanderpump Rules has not yet been renewed for a 10th season.
