RHOBH's Kyle Richards Explains Kathy's "I Need to Get Out of Here" Comment on IG, Admits Aspen Falling Out Was "Terrible" and Talks "Complicated" Dynamic

Kyle Richards is finally shedding light on the mysterious “get me out of here” message Kathy Hilton shared on Instagram amid their Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast trip to Aspen.

Months after Kathy told husband Rick Hilton, “Please call me I need to get out of here now,” in a comment on one of his Instagram posts, Kyle reflected on the drama she endured with Kathy on their trip and spoke of their “terrible” falling out.

“There definitely was something that happened that affected my relationship with my sister,” Kyle confirmed on the September 21 episode of the RHOBH: After Show.

Following a night out at a nightclub, where Kathy grew upset and demanded Kyle leave, which Kyle did not, Kyle looked back at the horrible things Kathy reportedly spewed about her to Lisa Rinna.

“They went back to my house after this argument, and that’s when the stuff happened between the two of them, the things that Kathy was saying to Lisa Rinna,” Kyle explained. “It was basically about me not doing what she wanted me to do. That sort of sparked an argument, and she was upset with me so she said things about me, and then Lisa was texting them to Erika and then I was seeing some of the text messages.”

Because Kathy was reportedly saying such negative things about Kyle and her family, Kyle wasn’t excited to return to her Aspen home, where some of the group was staying. So, rather than go back home right away, she remained at the club with Sutton Stracke, Crystal Kung-Minkoff, Diana Jenkins, and Erika Jayne.

“We all stayed and then when I got home that night, everyone was sleeping. It was quiet and I was like, ‘Yay.’ Made a bee-line to my bedroom and then in the morning I was like tip-toeing coming out like, ‘Is it safe to come get my coffee?’” Kyle admitted.

While Kyle and the women ultimately flew back to Los Angeles, Kathy didn’t go with them. Instead, she chose to stay back and sent her urgent IG message to Rick.

“She opted not to fly back on the plane I had chartered so she stayed and then that’s where that text that everyone knows about, well not text, her Instagram comment about ‘get me out of here.’ She thinks Instagram comments are like text messages so she wrote to her husband,” Kyle explained.

While Kyle and her sisters, including Kim Richards, have endured ups and downs with one another over the years both on RHOBH and off, Kyle was truly excited when Kathy joined the show in a “friend” role for season 11.

“It was terrible,” Kyle said of her season 12 falling out with Kathy, “because I’d already gone through enough stuff with my sister Kim. It was so complicated and I was really excited to have Kathy join and be a part of this and have this experience together, especially after everything we’ve gone through in the last 10 years.”

“I was just sort of like, ‘No. I don’t want this to be going in this direction. It’s too painful for me,'” she added.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
