Kyle Richards couldn’t believe that Erika Jayne predicted Dorit Kemsley and Paul “PK” Kemsley would be the next Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple to divorce on stage at BravoCon earlier this month.
Following the shocking comment, which prompted an all-out social media feud between Erika, Dorit, and PK, as well as suspicions from Sutton Stracke, Kyle admitted to being “floored” as she defended the couple’s marriage and reacted to a fan who called her out for failing to be a “real sister” to Kim Richards amid season five.
“I was actually floored by that comment,” Kyle told Insider. “I don’t even know where that came from. Dorit and PK are close friends of ours, and we spent a lot of time with them and their family. They’re a very loving and supportive couple.”
According to Kyle, she’s happy to be taking a break from the drama of RHOBH — much of which has been based around her strained relationship with sister Kathy Hilton — and getting back to her career in acting.
“That’ll be a good distraction,” she said. “Acting is my first love, my favorite thing to do. I’m going to be happy to be stepping away from reality during this break and focusing on my acting and producing… That heals me.”
Meanwhile, during a taping of Watch What Happens Live at BravoCon, Kyle was confronted by a fan who called her out for failing to have her sister Kim’s back against Lisa Rinna amid their cast dinner in Amsterdam during season five. As RHOBH viewers may recall, Kim was critical of Kyle amid the trip, suggesting that Kathy would’ve done a better job of having her back — like a “real sister.”
“Why didn’t she have Kim’s back like a real sister like Kathy did during the reunion?” the fan asked on the WWHL: After Show.
But in response, Kyle made it clear to the BravoCon guest that there was far more to the situation than she is privy to.
“Because you don’t always have the backstory, guys,” she stated. “There are things you can’t always explain. And family is very complicated. So if I put a camera in your house, we’ll talk later then.”
It is not yet known when the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast will begin filming season 13.
