Jax Taylor is checking out of the in-patient treatment center where he’s been addressing mental health concerns for the past month.
Following what his rep claims were an “emotional” 30 days, the 45-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum is ready to return home to his son, three-year-old Cruz, as he resumes production on the remaining episodes of The Valley season two amid his separation from Brittany Cartwright, 35.
On August 19, TMZ revealed Jax would be leaving the facility this Thursday, August 22, and returning to the $1.9 million home he previously shared with Brittany as she remains in a nearby rental.
The outlet also stated that while Jax intends to get back to production, and will open up about his stay in treatment and the reasons behind it, he will do so on his own time as it is not his main priority. That honor goes to son Cruz, who Jax plans to spend plenty of quality time with once he’s home.
Following the sharing of TMZ’s report, Jax’s rep confirmed the news.
“Jax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be heading back home later this week,” the rep shared in a statement to PEOPLE. “It’s been an emotional month for him and he’s most looking forward to spending time with his son.”
When Jax first entered treatment last month, the rep confirmed he “made the decision to seek in-patient treatment” after facing “mental health struggles.”
“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter,” the rep added.
Jax’s entry into treatment came just months after Brittany announced their separation on their shared podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, saying she “made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of [her] mental health.”
A short while later, Brittany told PEOPLE the distance offered her “a little bit of relief” because she “needed [the] space.” Jax told the outlet the separation was “best for [their] family” because they had “been going through some things for a while now.”
The Valley season two is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
