Lindsay Hubbard appeared on a podcast on Thursday, where she shared how filming with her former fiance, Carl Radke, has been going amid Summer House season nine.

While also looking back on their August 2023 breakup and suggesting that her pregnancy came as a relief to Carl, 39, the 38-year-old pregnant reality star admitted to living separately from her boyfriendTurner Kufe, who she began dating in January, as she discussed their future and offered an update on her pregnancy.

“I don’t really know how [Carl] feels about it because I don’t ask him … It’s just not my problem, how he feels about it. But … It’s fine with me,” Lindsay said of filming with her ex on the August 29 episode of the Housewives Nightcap podcast. “Looking at Carl and seeing him each weekend in the Hamptons is a strong representation of my past, whereas when I look in the mirror, and I look down at my belly, it’s an even stronger representation of my present and my current and my future so I’m just in a really, really happy place.”

“Although that breakup was one of the most traumatic and hard experiences I’ve had to go through in my adult life, I truly believe that I’m where I need to be and it wouldn’t have happened if that breakup didn’t happen,” she added.

As for whether Carl has been supportive of her baby news, Lindsay pointed out that they’ve celebrated her pregnancy together.

“I have celebrated different parts of this pregnancy and moments this summer that he has been there for, so yeah, he’s been supportive,” she confirmed.

Lindsay also believes that Carl likes that she’s moved on because “it takes guilt off of him.”

“He probably feels, and I can’t speak for him, but I’ve heard through the grapevine that he feels a little relief knowing that I got back on a track that works for me in my life,” she revealed.

As she nears the end of filming, which she said concludes on Labor Day, Lindsay is focused on taking things one step at a time with Turner — and not rushing when it comes to an engagement or marriage.

“It’s a newer relationship. We’ve only been dating since January. I found out I was pregnant in April. So I pretty much took everything off the table, like, ‘Look, I’m not looking for a proposal. I’m not looking to get engaged. I’m not even thinking about marriage. I’m not even thinking about moving in together,'” she explained. “If that comes, that’s great. I just didn’t want to put more pressure, obviously, on this relationship than already comes with being pregnant and having a baby.”

Although welcoming a child while living separately is unconventional, Lindsay said the setup works for her and Turner.

“We live so close to each other in New York, literally within blocks. We’re on the same avenue and once the baby comes, I’m sure he’ll spend the night every single night because he’s obsessed with her and doesn’t want to be without her,” she shared. “And then when we’re ready, when the timing is right in our relationship, maybe we’ll move in together. Maybe we’ll talk about marriage but right now it’s working for us.”

Keeping Turner away from the cameras is also working.

“Maybe [fans will see him] one day,” she teased of a potential reveal of Turner, who has not been seen on Summer House or social media (aside from his arms) with Lindsay. “I’m trying to just ease him in, step by step. Obviously, the very first step was not exactly the way  — It’s like, ‘Hi, I’m pregnant. And I have a mystery baby daddy.’ There are a few steps before that I just didn’t get a chance to hit those steps so now it’s more just easing him into my very public life.”

“He’s a very private person. He has a very successful job which is something I’ve always, clearly, wanted in a man. So I can’t complain too much about him not being in the public eye with me. Maybe one day. I just don’t know when. I haven’t got that far,” she continued.

Looking back at the one-year anniversary of her and Carl’s breakup, Lindsay admitted she “got really emotional” as she considered how much she’s been through and “everything [she] accomplished after.”

“I thought I had it all planned out … and then it was ripped out from underneath me in one fell swoop and it just was like, ‘What just happened?’ [But] once I was able to get through and get over the humiliation of it all and the ego of it all, I just was like, ‘Alright, let’s go. Life doesn’t stop. I’m gonna go focus on myself and what makes Lindsay happy and what I deem as personal, individual successes in life and I’m going to go after those things without having to worry so much about a relationship or a man or somebody else,'” she recalled. “And once I decided to focus on myself, the rest fell into place.”

Now that she’s almost in her third trimester, Lindsay says she’s feeling great physically.

“I’ve been very blessed and lucky with an easy pregnancy so far,” she stated. “It’s been in this sweet spot of my pregnancy to have the energy to film [Summer House].”

Although Lindsay said she started out the season “hiding [her] pregnancy,” she ultimately shared the news and chronicled much of her second trimester for the show.

Also on the podcast, Lindsay reacted to Paige DeSorbo, 31, saying she’s been chill throughout her pregnancy.

“I have. It’s weird. It’s almost anti-activated,” she agreed, before adding, “Don’t get me wrong; there are some weeks where my hormones are raging in the wrong direction and I am irritable and I hate everyone but for the most part, I have been [having] a really happy, giggly pregnancy.”

Summer House season nine is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
