Well, the ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta FINALLY brought some real drama last night, albeit in the last five minutes of the show.
But the momentum is building. And in the spirit of the holiday season, it came compliments of a few ghosts of Housewives past…
It all started when NeNe, relieved to have her husband out of the hospital, decided to throw a party.
The theme was to be: “The All White Never Forget Party”, which also included some footnote about the “girls bringing their gays”, which no one quite understood, but everyone agreed was vaguely homophobic. Read more
The ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta are a mixed bag. Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine how these women could be friends. There’s no middle ground. A few are relatively normal, but also a bit boring. The rest are completely out of their minds. But let’s face it: the crazy is what keeps us watching.
Now, I’m no psychologist, but I believe that both Kenya and Porsha suffer from delusions.
For starters, Kenya appears to be married to a man that exists only in her imagination. She speaks glowingly and passionately about him, but continues to refer to him only as “Baby”. She refuses to tell the others his name, although if you paid close enough attention, she did let it slip. His name is Marc Daly, which doesn’t sound made up at all! Read more
So, let’s just say the peaches of Atlanta aren’t off to the juiciest of starts. That’s my diplomatic way of saying that the second episode of the 10th season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was a little dull. The main issue was that far too much time and attention was given to Shamea. Oh, I’m sorry. Shamea who, you ask? She’s Porsha’s friend, who was added on last season to bring…well, I’m not sure what she was meant to bring to the show. Suffice it to say, it wasn’t enough.
Anyway, much of tonight’s episode was spent at her wedding shower. Porsha, Kandi, and Sheree came to support their friend, and celebrate her upcoming nuptials. Porsha announced that she wouldn’t be attending the actual ceremony because it’s in Kenya (the country, not the Housewife), and she claims to “have a condition” called Vasovagal Syncope (low blood pressure) that would make sitting in coach (gasp!) with “her legs down” for such a long period of time, difficult. Besides, as Kandi’s assistant and friend Carmon quipped (rather loudly, considering they were at the same table), Porsha is “used to having her legs up”. Kandi thoroughly enjoyed this, of course, since she and Porsha are still on rather icy terms after the latter accused the former of planning to drug and rape her last season.
After a few
vulgar lighthearted party games, including something called “Weiner in the Hole” that you can figure out the particulars of for yourselves, as I’d like to forget I ever saw it, Shamea and Porsha took their argument outside, where they loudly accused each other of a host of disloyalties and breaches of friend code, which only ended when Porsha’s sister Lauren insisted she needed to get home to her baby, and Shamea flounced off. Again, I know…Shamea who? But apparently she’ll be around for at least a little while. Read more
The highly anticipated 10th season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta made its debut Sunday night, but one thing that was noticeably missing were the taglines!
Good news as Bravo just released the new RHOA taglines today and you can watch that video below. Read more
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes is receiving some major backlash this morning, perhaps well deserved, for a controversial comment she made during a recent stand up routine.
In a video (posted below) shared online by a fan, Nene was doing a stand up comedy show in Oakland on Saturday night during which some members of the audience started boo’ing her.
She then responds to a female heckler stating she hoped that audience member got raped by an Uber driver, which led to more boos. Wowzers. Read more
Bravo released the Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10 trailer last week and it featured Sheree Whitfield’s story-line involving her prison boyfriend!
If you recall, we reported last month that Sheree, 47, was dating former business man and current prison inmate Tyrone Gilliams with rumors that the two might even be engaged. You can see photos of them hugged up together in prison here. Read more
We brought you the new RHOA season trailer a few days ago, and today we bring you the official Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10 cast photos!
As for what we can expect this season, the press release teases, “Cynthia is free and fabulous and embracing all life has to offer, from engaging in new business opportunities to taking a dip in the dating pool. Eager to move forward, Shereé is focusing on healing old relationship wounds and preparing for an empty nest with her daughter heading off to college. Meanwhile, Kenya who focuses on growing her beauty empire, is over the moon after a whirlwind romance led to marrying the man of her dreams. Fully vindicated after last season’s shocking allegations, it’s business as usual for Kandi, who is juggling managing the popular Old Lady Gang restaurant and planning the highly-anticipated Xscape reunion.”
It continues, “Excited for a new start, Porsha is looking for love and embracing a new vegan lifestyle. Fresh off performing in her one-woman comedy show and back in the housewives universe, NeNe returns more determined than ever to build her empire and support her family. And in her first time rejoining the group since season five, Kim is back on the scene and ready to shake things up. This season business may be booming for the ladies, but it’s the friendships that are on the line when the old are threatened by the new and loyalties are put into question.”
