Fans are finally learning what the future may hold for the Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice amid his recent release from ICE custody.
Teresa Giudice and her husband are still anxiously awaiting a ruling regarding the convicted felon’s deportation appeal. But after his recent move to Italy, what’s to be expected of Joe and Teresa’s family dynamic and his pending court case?
The Giudice family’s attorney James J. Leonard Jr. is speaking out as he addresses Joe’s legal case and upcoming family reunion. While Joe’s move to Italy will obviously take a toll on his marriage, James makes it clear that it won’t ruin Joe’s chances of being able to return to the U.S.
“It’s completely mutually exclusive of one another,” James explained on Amy Phillips‘ SiriusXM show, regarding the appeal and Joe’s decision to move to Italy while it’s still pending.
He continued, “It’s no different than if he was out on bail, if they had granted him bail when he was seeking it. That wouldn’t have made his case any better. And him agreeing to go [to Italy] in the interim does not make his case any worse. The legal issues are the legal issues. You know, whatever they decide to do, it’s going to be a legal analysis. It’s not going to be anything other than that.”
Joe’s deportation appeal will now be decided by the Third Circuit Court, and that decision is expected in the upcoming months. As fans can recall, Joe was moved to ICE custody in March of this year after serving his prison sentence for bank and wire fraud. He was then granted permission in October to stay in Italy during the remainder of his court proceedings regarding his possible deportation.
In Italy, the father-of-four is reportedly surrounded by various family members, including his brother, Pete Giudice, and his mother, who are visiting Joe from New Jersey.

“His sister is on her way. He comes from a very, very loving and supportive family. They absolutely adore him. There’s a lot of love in the Giudice family,” the attorney continued in the interview. “But I want to be very clear, everybody’s goal is that he comes back to the United States and that’s what we’re working on.”
And despite Teresa and Joe’s awkward appearance in a recent interview special with Andy Cohen, during which they both accused one another of being with other people, James confirmed that Teresa is still planning on joining her daughters this month to visit Joe, stating the trip will take place during “the first week of November.”
Bravo is reportedly planning to follow Teresa and her daughters to Italy so that fans can witness the emotional reunion. The highly anticipated season 10 of RHONJ is set to premiere on November 6 on Bravo TV.
